Vans Aircraft Co. MD 8X

Featured Replies

I'm seriously thinking of my first payware. I'd like to get a few MDs(one -83, one -88) and the Vans Aircraft Co's look very nice. Anybody have experience with these products? I'm curious how the VC looks, too. Any advice would be much appreciated.ThanksRick

I just bought their MD-88, and I have to be honest, it has its in-accuracies, but if you are a big md fan its okay. It is an FSDS model, so it runs a little slow, and doesnt have real fluid animation but like I said, if your an MD fan its coolTyler Johnson

Rick,If you look further down, I have a post about my impressions (not good!). I got the Alaska AIr version. The panel is the default B737 panel and the VC is by far the worst I have seen. The resolution is horrible (notice the pic on the web page is zoomed out beyond the jumpseat) and none of the gauges move. Clearly it is an FS2K style VC. Perhaps others have found differently or maybe I downloaded the only lemon in the bunch. David

I got involved in the "other" thread about this so I guess I'll jump in here too :) The VC is nothing to write home about for sure. Its NOT dynamic and its average to below average. However, if you want an accurate MD-88 3D model than this is it. Notice I said 88, its got all the right stuff in the right places, and since Delta operates the largest fleet of them in the world (@120) then its the one to get. The textures are nice and everything works in FS2K2. Having flown these for nearly 6 years i just had to do it. There isn't another one around that is as nice that I've seen.Hornit
