Excel truncates long flight plans

Now that everyone is trying to keep aircraft in the air as much as possible, multihop flightplan lines are becoming very long, and exceeding the 256 columns that Excel accepts.Excel is a very useful tool for sorting and searching, so I would like to find a way around this problem. Have I missed something here, or is there no way for Excel to accept much longer flightplan lines?
