Help - FS2004, TTools, and Touch-n-Go Landings

Recommended Posts

OK -I've used TTools (and AFCAD) for FS2002. I followed the latestdirectons for Mr. Lee Swordy's AWESOME update to Traffic Toolsfor FS2004.Here's my FlightPlans_3CK.txt file -AC#1, N37890,50%,24Hr,IFR,00:00:00,TNG01:00:00,003,R,0000,3CK,01:10:00,TNG01:25:00,003,R,0000,3CKAC#22,N93485,50%,24Hr,IFR,00:00:00,TNG03:00:00,003,R,0000,3CK,03:10:00,TNG03:25:00,003,R,0000,3CKAC#23,N77432,50%,24Hr,IFR,00:00:00,TNG05:00:00,003,R,0000,3CK,05:10:00,TNG05:25:00,003,R,0000,3CKAC#24,N83554,50%,24Hr,IFR,00:00:00,TNG07:00:00,003,R,0000,3CK,07:10:00,TNG07:25:00,003,R,0000,3CKAC#25,N34222,50%,24Hr,IFR,00:00:00,TNG09:00:00,003,R,0000,3CK,09:10:00,TNG09:25:00,003,R,0000,3CKAC#26,N00102,50%,24Hr,IFR,00:00:00,TNG11:00:00,003,R,0000,3CK,11:10:00,TNG11:25:00,003,R,0000,3CKAC#27,N48200,50%,24Hr,IFR,00:00:00,TNG13:00:00,003,R,0000,3CK,13:10:00,TNG13:25:00,003,R,0000,3CKAC#28,N21199,50%,24Hr,IFR,00:00:00,TNG15:00:00,003,R,0000,3CK,15:10:00,TNG15:25:00,003,R,0000,3CKAC#40,N57013,50%,24Hr,IFR,00:00:00,TNG17:00:00,003,R,0000,3CK,17:10:00,TNG17:25:00,003,R,0000,3CKAC#44,N62804,50%,24Hr,IFR,00:00:00,TNG19:00:00,003,R,0000,3CK,19:10:00,TNG19:25:00,003,R,0000,3CKAC#49,N11107,50%,24Hr,IFR,00:00:00,TNG21:00:00,003,R,0000,3CK,21:10:00,TNG21:25:00,003,R,0000,3CKAC#54,N00301,50%,24Hr,IFR,00:00:00,TNG23:00:00,003,R,0000,3CK,23:10:00,TNG23:25:00,003,R,0000,3CKDon't worry about all AC leaving at 7pm CDT - I'm just testing for now. All the AC do in fact leave on schedule, they circle theairport (3CK) and eventually, they "attempt" to do a touch-n-go.Here are my questions:1) Instead of a true touch and go, the AC announce a missed approach, do not land, but continue flying in the pattern. Is this FS2004 limitation (no true touch-n-go), or just the way FS2004 uses the TNG signal in the flight plan?2) The aircraft extend to 15 miles from the airport and then begin to circle to a base leg and eventually final. All the ATC info they communicate sounds good. But, to me, flying the pattern so far away (a 15 mile downwind) sounds extreme. Is there something wrong in my FlightPlans_3CK.txt file that's causing this? Thanks in advance for any guidance.JerryG

First change your IFR to VFR.Second loose the 00:00 start times....the first two are fine at 00:00, the next ones should be at 00:30, etc..Now take a look at your flight plan...AC#1, N37890,50%,24Hr,IFR,00:00:00,TNG01:00:00,003,R,0000,3CK,01:10:00,TNG01:25:00,003,R,0000,3CKYour flight leaves 3CK at 00:00 and does TNG for 1 hour until 1:00 but at what 003 (300 ft.) change the 003 to something like 050.Next your flight will try to land for 10 mins and then take off again and do TNGs for like 15 mins...not possible...you need more time for the plane to land, taxi, park, taxi and depart again. Change the 01:10 to something like 01:30 and then change the TNG to say 02:30 for one hour of TNG's once again at 050 ft.So your line should read like this...AC#1, N37890,50%,24Hr,VFR,00:00:00,TNG01:00:00,050,R,0000,3CK,01:30:00,TNG02:30:00,050,R,0000,3CKAC#1, N37890,50%,24Hr,VFR,00:00:00,TNG01:00:00,050,R,0000,3CK,01:30:00,TNG02:30:00,050,R,0000,3CKSee if that helps you out...make sure you change the other lines and have no more than three aircraft doing TNG's at the same airport at the same time...once you get those three to work, you can slowly add more to see what the limit of the sim is. One of the reasons maybe that your planes are doing a 15mile circuit is because of so many are in the air at once.Finally...your last few lines have your planes doing TNG for like 23 hours....once again not a good idea. Also check to see how many parking spaces you have. If you dont have enough for the plane to return to, it wont land.- JDR[div align=center][link:www.jetdoc.com/ABT/unicom.html]Listen Live - Win Prizes - UNICOM Info Click Here][/b

You may need Parking. You only have 5 GA Parking and one of those is used by you, that leaves room for only 4 other A/C.

OK -Here's the latest FlightPlans_3CK.txt file. I've got the VFR and followed the Jet Doctor tutorial as well as TTools manual for TNG.This is VERY strange. I --do-- get the TNG to correctly work ifI use __EITHER__ the first 4 __OR__ the last 4 lines in thisfile. When I attempt to include all 8 lines, those AC that aresupposed to fly at 19:30:00 GMT do not start. In fact, the parkingplaces still have the same planes listed for the first 4 entriesin the file (those that are supposed to start at 16:00:00 GMT).To repeat, I can get either the first 4 or last 4 AC to fly properly (by making a 4 line file). But, an 8 line combined filefails.Suggestions?????AC#1, N48200,50%,24Hr,VFR,16:00:00,TNG17:00:00,040,R,0000,3CK,17:30:00,TNG18:30:00,040,R,0000,3CKAC#25, N21199,50%,24Hr,VFR,16:00:00,TNG17:00:00,040,R,0000,3CK,17:30:00,TNG18:30:00,040,R,0000,3CKAC#44, N57013,50%,24Hr,VFR,16:00:00,TNG17:00:00,040,R,0000,3CK,17:30:00,TNG18:30:00,040,R,0000,3CKAC#49, N33333,50%,24Hr,VFR,16:00:00,TNG17:00:00,040,R,0000,3CK,17:30:00,TNG18:30:00,040,R,0000,3CKAC#25, N58200,50%,24Hr,VFR,19:30:00,TNG20:30:00,040,R,0000,3CK,21:00:00,TNG22:00:00,040,R,0000,3CKAC#45, N31199,50%,24Hr,VFR,19:30:00,TNG20:30:00,040,R,0000,3CK,21:00:00,TNG22:00:00,040,R,0000,3CKAC#101,N67013,50%,24Hr,VFR,19:30:00,TNG20:30:00,040,R,0000,3CK,21:00:00,TNG22:00:00,040,R,0000,3CKAC#102,N43333,50%,24Hr,VFR,19:30:00,TNG20:30:00,040,R,0000,3CK,21:00:00,TNG22:00:00,040,R,0000,3CKJerryG

There are only 5 Parking spaces at 3CK. One is needed for User aircraft, that leaves 4 for AI Aircraft. That is why only 4 plans work.

So -I checked my FS2002 flightplans. I have added 8. However, I addedmore gates - for a total of 9 - via AFCAD.So, I guess I'll need to wait until AFCAD is ready for FS9.I had thought that as long as I only had 4 AC active for eachhour block, then I could re-use the gates. I guess I'll needa gate for EACH AC entered in the flight plan. Thanks!JerryG

One nice thing, as soon as the new AFCAD is available there will be millions of flightplans to install.
