2002 WX issues. Any fixes?

Featured Replies

I have been using FS2002 since its release and I am mostly very happy with it. I use the program mainly to pracice approaches. I have found for this has done wonders for my real life IFR flying. There is one bug though that I find my self dealing with time and time again that I would like to fix.The weather settings I enter in the advanced weather are not used by the program when I go to fly. For instance if I set a visibility level from surface to 1000ft at 1/2sm with clear above the visibilty works until I climb above 1000ft and then the max visibility takes over. i.e. surface to 1000ft becomes clear. Also second cloud layers usually do not appear at all (well cirrus layers do, but I cant put a broken layer over an overcast layer). To confirm what is happening I go back to the WX settings in flight and they have changed themselves! Are there any fixes. I am using the FSUIPC for yoke and rudder settings, but its weather components do not address my specific issues. aca_dia

There is a Visibility tab in FSUIPC module that sets limits for the visibility in clear, cloudy and overcast weather. Also there are controls there that affect how the visibility changes with altitude. So, whatever you're setting in the Advanced Weather Options is being changed by FSUIPC to meet the figures mentioned above. You need to adjust those FSUIPC values to accomodate the settings you want.Cheers.
