Trim question..

Recommended Posts

I keep getting "Trim fail" red warning lights in the Malibu and King..no amount of trim up or down seems to fix this. This prevents the autopilot from engaging (took me a long time to figure out why the engage button would not stay down..)Does anyone know how I can avoid this situation? I've tossed passengers overboard, reduced fuel loads, lied about my weight, and still found no reliable cure..Help!

G'day Bert,Just press the "test" button adjacent to the AP button. All lights will come on for a few seconds and then extinguish. The trim light flashes about 3 or 4 times and also extinguishes. Then engage the FD and finally engage the auto pilot.Take it steady with the passengers :-)Cheers,Roger @YSSY

Roger, the test button worked on the Malibu.. passengers are again safe on board! For the King, the only thing that works is to start with it as the initial airplane.. if I switch from the Malibu, the trim fail light comes on and stays on. Also, in the King, I cannot push the AP test button, so the Malibu fix does not work for me..Either way, I now do have a work around.. many thanks for the suggestions!Regards and happy flyingBTW.. have you tried the P51 yet? It is truly awesome..

G'day Bert,Yep I was refering to the Malibu in my last post. Unfortunately with the B-200 you have to make it the initial startup aircraft for the AP to function correctly (no big deal).Yes I have tried the p51. Took me about 1 1/4 hours to download but was well worth it. The cockpit detail is incredible. Cheers,Roger @YSSY
