Dx8 issues with 9500pro

Featured Replies

I have problems with dx8 renderers (whether using T&L or not), the screen is unintelligible. I tried both with original renderers and with patched ones (video update 1 and 2). So I have to use dx7 renderer. I own a Sapphire Radeon 9500pro. Do u know where I can find patched renderers, or if there are any graphics settings on my video card that work?

The Video Updates are for nVidia cards only, so you'll definitely need the original drivers to work at all - hope you backed them up. :-)What is the following line set to in your Render.ini?vertexIndexFormat=It should be set to "0", but if it already is and your card still isn't functioning properly, try "1" (after putting the original drivers back in place).

Hi.I have everything maxed. I get about 25-55 depending on the direction, time of day etc. Here are sys. specs. TVUpdated 03/20/2003 to present.System: SOYO SY-K7V Dragon+ Mother board, 512 Mb DDR RAM PC2400, XP1800+ O.C.2000+ CPU>1656MHz, VIA 4in1 Vr. 4.40, Sound Driver Ver.0629a Nov.1,2001, Award BIOS Ver. v6.00PG; K7VXA-2BA2, W98SE running on it's own partition on drive C: and 512 Mb fixed Swap file on drive D:, DX 8.1B, ATI 9500 PRO video O.C. Controllers: MS Sidewinder Precision Pro (USB port),CH Virtual Pro Yoke and CH Pro Pedals (USB adapter port). Background tasks: Explorer, Systray, Mixer for on board sound, 99% available resources

I have similar specs, with these differences, AMD Barton 2500+ (1833Mhz), 1GB DDR Pc2700, WinXP pro SP1, DX 9.0., AA2X-AF4X. With maxed graphic settings (Hi res radius = 6, Med res radius = 20), I can only get unsteady 12-13 fps around San Francisco area, clouds or not, I can't figure out why. I tried a lot of render.ini configurations. I run in 1024*768*32. I have to set Hi res radius to 1 or 0 to get it smooth. Are u sure u get steady 20s fps around KSFO with THAT settings?
