Well, none-the less, it looks quite good, Jeff! Keep at it! With the newer data becoming available from the Shuttle Mapping missions, we may just get it as close to real as possible yet!Cheers!Ken Wood :-sun1http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/bannernewkw.jpgGateway 700X; Intel P4 2.4GHz; 512MB RAM; NVIDIA Ti4200 4X AGP 128MB; SB Audigy; Thrustmaster TopGun Fox 2 Pro Shock

Jeff - nice work! Did you lower the subdivide tolerance by any chance?

Jeff,When setting the options for the slicer, there is an advanced options area - one setting is for increased resolution in interpreting elevation data. When you decrease the subdivide tolerance you are asking the slicer to show more change in elevation if the details are included in the data - this can also create larger files and reduced frame rates, but modern computers really don't have that much problem with it.When you are slicing, set up as follows:-Slice with FlyEdit, Fly!2-Click the advanced options button-Under Fly2slice Options, expand the tree under elevations-Change the subdivide Tolerance to a lower number - to really bring out increased elevation detail I would recommend 100The default is 500, which is fine for most scenery - I believe this means that the slicer will interpret elevation changes down to 500'. When you have a special area where some details are smaller than that (a 250' hill or a 100' ditch, for instance) they won't show. But, on occasion, you can make them snap out by using the lower tolerance. Again, that data has to be in the DEM for this to work, but sometimes it can make all the difference. Why don't you try a small area (like a 1/4 tile) with the lower setting and see if you get better results around the river?
