Skin tutorials

Hello guys. I would appreciate some help if I may.I have never done a Fly!II skin before and I just don't know where to start with POD files and the formats used inside them, or even where the textures actually are. Could someone please point me in the direction of a good tutorial or two on skinning for Fly!II if there is some available. I searched the forums here but didn't come up with much.FYI: I want to do a Northern Territory of Australia Police Air Wing PC-12, a Royal Flying Doctor Service PC-12 and a Victorian Police Air Wing Dauphin. Fly!II is absolutely awesome in that it has 'major' remote aerodromes in the NT such as Gove a few hours flight east of Darwin International. Darwin (NT capital) is the second most isolated Australian capital geographically but in practice it most definitely suffers the effects of this more than Perth does (first most). Despite Gove being a good 14 hour drive from Darwin through Arnhem Land, one must gain rare special permission to use that road, and it is quite rough. Generally one must go via Katherine 3 hours SE of Darwin by road and spend the night there, proper 4WD required (as in no SUV cud, still quite rough), so you can see why such a 'close' town to the capital is actually quite more isolated than it seems. This is why I wanted to do some Australian based PC-12 aircraft, especially in the NT.A Police Air Wing PC-12 is equipped as a radio repeater, has a EPIRB homer, various HF, VHF and UHF radio sets in addition to the airband sets to allow for search and rescue roles as well as personnel transport. They currently have two PC-12 aircraft. To give an idea of the importance of aviation to this region, according to an article in Australian Aviation last year, there are communities 12 minutes away from Darwin in a PC-12 that have ALL of their supplies flown in by the GA sector from Darwin. In many of these communities (unfortunately not represented in Fly!II) a PC-12 is by far the largest aircraft on the ramp (typically single Cessna, GA-8 Airvan or single Piper models, a few double pistons) and these strips will sometimes see departures and arrivals in the order of 12 per hour.Dauphins are just awesome. No other reason ;)Russki Bear

Russki,In addition to the airport's name, country, state and ICAO code, we'd need the following information (from the "Fly!2 Database Mini Turorials" anchored thread started by Rob Westhouse in Avsim's "FLY Developer's Forum"):################################################################################################################## AIRPORT.DBD -- Field Values#################################################################################################################--------------------------------------------------------Airport Type (add values together for combined types)--------------------------------------------------------Unknown = 0Airport = 2Heliport = 4Seaplane Base = 8Balloonport = 16Gliderport = 32Stolport = 64Ultralight = 128--------------------------------------------------------Airport Ownership (one value only)--------------------------------------------------------Unknown = 0Public = 1Private = 2Air Force = 3Navy = 4Army = 5--------------------------------------------------------Airport Usage (one value only)--------------------------------------------------------Unknown = 0Public = 1Private = 2--------------------------------------------------------Airport Frame Service (one value only)--------------------------------------------------------Unknown = 0None = 1Minor = 2Major = 3--------------------------------------------------------Airport Engine Service (one value only)--------------------------------------------------------Unknown = 0None = 0Minor = 1Major = 2--------------------------------------------------------Airport Oxygen (one value only)--------------------------------------------------------Unknown = 0None = 1Low = 2High = 3HighLow = 4--------------------------------------------------------Airport Beacon Lens Color (one value only)--------------------------------------------------------Unknown = 0None = 1ClearGreen = 2ClearYellow = 3ClearGreenYellow = 4SplitClearGreen = 5Yellow = 6Green = 7--------------------------------------------------------Airport Region (one value only)--------------------------------------------------------Unknown = 0FAA Alaska = 1FAA Central = 2FAA Eastern = 3FAA GreatLakes = 4FAA International = 5FAA NewEngland = 6FAA NorthwestMountain = 7FAA Southern = 8FAA Southwest = 9FAA WesternPacific = 10--------------------------------------------------------Airport Fuel Types (add values together for combined types)--------------------------------------------------------Unknown = 080 = 2100 = 4100LL = 8115 = 16JetA = 32JetA1 = 64JetA1Plus = 128JetB = 256JetBPlus = 512Automotive = 1024--------------------------------------------------------Airport Based Aircraft (add values togther for combined types)--------------------------------------------------------Unknown = 0SingleEngine = 2MultiEngine = 4JetEngine = 8Helicopter = 16Gliders = 32Military = 64Ultralight = 128--------------------------------------------------------Airport Schedule Month (add values together for combined types; That's a lot of info. I don't know what half of it means! I am sure I can find out and I would bet that these airfields are almost entirely daylight only.I'll start on it, it's a bit of research to do ;)Russki Bear

G'day Russki bear,What airfields are you refering to. Danny Vickers added a lot of Aussie airfield to Fly! II. and did many runway/taxiway/ils corrections. I think he may have uploaded much of his work to the library. Have you had a look??If the airports are in the enroute supplement issued by Airways Australia then the chances are they may be already done.If they are private station airfields or aboriginal settlement strips then probably not. Cheers,Roger
