Possible Fix for Fly! 1 and Fly! 2k for Nvidia Cards

Featured Replies

Hi All,I may have discovered a fix for the error:TEXT3D3ERR_ELINFO: an unknown 3d3 error occured.When one uses a Nvidia video card and the latest drivers on Fly!1 and Fly2k.As far as I can see the problem lies in the file: "tridx6.dll"So I copied over the file "tridx7.dll" from Fly!2 to Fly!1 and modified my .vcf file.From:nVidia GeForcefx (AGP)tridx6.dll4318 // Video Card ID #1818 // Video Card ID #22 // AGP Flag (0=no AGP, 1=High Detail, 2=High Detail+Triple Buffer)1 // AGP Must Exist (if AGP is non-zero on previous line)1 // Mip mapping0 // Allow AutoMipMapping (Mip Mapping must be off)0 // Direct Texture Mode0 // Alternate Blend Mode0 // Texture Count 32 (0=default)48 // Texture Count 64 (0=default)224 // Texture Count 128 (0=default)64 // Texture Count 256 (0=default)6 // Video Res Count640 480 16 0 // Video Resolution (last number is relevance (1=default, 0=normal))800 600 16 0 // Video Resolution (last number is relevance (1=default, 0=normal))1024 768 16 0 // Video Resolution (last number is relevance (1=default, 0=normal))640 480 32 0 // Video Resolution (last number is relevance (1=default, 0=normal))800 600 32 0 // Video Resolution (last number is relevance (1=default, 0=normal))1024 768 32 1 // Video Resolution (last number is relevance (1=default, 0=normal))0 // Reserved0 // Reserved0 // Reserved0 // Reserved0 // Reserved0 // Reserved0 // Reserved0 // Reserved0 // Reserved0 // ReservedTo:nVidia GeForcefx (AGP)tridx7.dll4318 // Video Card ID #1818 // Video Card ID #22 // AGP Flag (0=no AGP, 1=High Detail, 2=High Detail+Triple Buffer)1 // AGP Must Exist (if AGP is non-zero on previous line)1 // Mip mapping0 // Allow AutoMipMapping (Mip Mapping must be off)0 // Direct Texture Mode0 // Alternate Blend Mode0 // Texture Count 32 (0=default)48 // Texture Count 64 (0=default)224 // Texture Count 128 (0=default)64 // Texture Count 256 (0=default)6 // Video Res Count640 480 16 0 // Video Resolution (last number is relevance (1=default, 0=normal))800 600 16 0 // Video Resolution (last number is relevance (1=default, 0=normal))1024 768 16 0 // Video Resolution (last number is relevance (1=default, 0=normal))640 480 32 0 // Video Resolution (last number is relevance (1=default, 0=normal))800 600 32 0 // Video Resolution (last number is relevance (1=default, 0=normal))1024 768 32 1 // Video Resolution (last number is relevance (1=default, 0=normal))0 // Reserved0 // Reserved0 // Reserved0 // Reserved0 // Reserved0 // Reserved0 // Reserved0 // Reserved0 // Reserved0 // ReservedIt seems to have solved the problem, but I need to run more tests to be sure it's working ok.If someone else could try this and confirm my results, it would help.Thanx,ShanmarkSys Specs:P4 1.7GHz512MB Ram RDRam120GB HDDNvidia Geforce FX5900XT 128MB AGPNvidia 71.50 DriversDirectx 9.0cWinXP Pro Service Pack 2

Hi Shanmark, thank you for the info! I have still FLY! 1 on my HD - and some wonderful sceneries (Rio ..) which we have not got for FLY! 2 so long. Sometimes I really enjoy FLY!ing the old version with some aircraft we don't have in FLY! 2.I will test it next weekend as I have no time now.If there are further findings, please let me know!RegardsGeorg HeliFLYer EDDW

Shanmark,Thanks for the VCF. It works great for me. I only had time for a quick flight but no crashes. Thanks again,EarlPIII800, 384M DDR Ram, Win 98SE, 5600XT 256, 61.76 drivers
