April 19, 200323 yr I have database updates for DTW to add the new runway, rename the old ones. I'll try to upload these in the next couple days. I also have taxiways to work with the airport changes.
April 19, 200323 yr That's great - let me know if their are any alignment problems when you add the new runway. You'll notice that the Tiger Census data placed a nice grassy texture around most of the DTW airport perimeter. If the new runway ends up outside of the current TS perimeter, I'll make a new underlay for the airport. Randall Rocke
April 19, 200323 yr I saw the screenshots you posted, and yes... it will be different. The new runway is parrallel to the left most (western) runway which shows in your picture. (which is where it appears your airport property ended). And sorry I didnt get it uploaded sooner, it would have saved some confusion/redownloading. :/I've done alot of updates in MI and CA (places I've lived). I guess I should be uploading this stuff . . .
April 20, 200323 yr No problem - until people upgrade with your DEXs, the TS fits appropriately.Once your update is available, I'll create the underlay and offer it as an option. Randall Rocke
April 22, 200323 yr Randall,Everytime I read one of your posts like this one I'm reminded again that all of the effort that went into TS was well worth it :)Todd
April 22, 200323 yr Hi Todd,Hope you're getting in some good air-time. I hope to be cruisin' the Ohio skies with Bart in the near future. :-)BTW, I'm getting ready to approach the Avsim store on the possible "sale" of TS CDs and DVDs, not for the profit of any scenery creator, but as a way to make it easier to distribute large, custom TerraScenery to Fly! users. I know we talked a little about this in the past - I see this as a way to surpass memory, storage and bandwidth limitations by simply covering the costs of copying, order maintenance and distribution that the Avsim store would incur. April 22, 200323 yr Hi Randall,Since I finished up my instrument rating last November, I haven't flown as much as I would like. Still recovering from spending all that money :) I did fly up to Columbia, CA (o22) a couple of weeks ago. It's a nice little airport in the Sierra foothills. It was the first time I flew since Richard passed on, and I thought of him a lot. I had a root beer in his honor. The TS CD's sounds like a good idea. I think it would also be nice if in addition to the scenery itself, each CD also contained the data and TS files that it was generated from (maybe a zip file that you just unzip to your TS2 directory and it places all of the files in the right places). This would allow users to re-generate the scenery if they want to tweak any of the settings (textures, elevation density, shading/snow params, etc.)Todd
