March 31, 200323 yr For some reason, when I request IFR from Ground, the airport options only go as high as "P-R" I have tried modifying various files and changed them back...to no avail. Any suggestions?Fly First...Play Later...--Noel

March 31, 200323 yr Hi, Chris,Love your packages, BTW. To answer your question, "Yes". The answer to my problem lies within a built-in limit on the number of airports that can begin with the same letter. After modifying the fbo_name s******** for several airports, the menu items returned. But this leads to another question concerning IFR flight...What file do I need to edit to prevent Approach from trying to force me to auger in? I.E. "...Maintain 1 Thousand..." when lowest altitude is 2876 (BOI)? I have tried to modify AIPlan.txt, and AirSpace.txt to correct this situation, but again, to no avail.POINT BOI = (+43:33:31, -116:13:13)POINT GTF = (+47:28:28, -111:22:00)POINT LAS = (+36:04:30, -115:9:04)POINT PHX = (+33:26:3, -112:1:36)POINT SFO = (+37:37:0, -122:22:0)POINT SLC = (+40:45:57, -111:59:13)LEG SEA-PDX 5000 12500 7000 0 14500LEG LAX-PDX 5000 12500 7000 0 14500LEG GCN-DOZI 8000 9500 6500 0 14500LEG DOZI-PDX 8000 12500 7000 0 14500LEG LAS-GCN 9000 12500 9500 6500 14500LEG LAS-PDX 9500 12500 7000 0 14500LEG SFO-LAS 5000 12500 9500 6500 14500LEG SEA-BOI 8000 11500 7900 2900 14500LEG BOI-SFO 8000 11500 3000 0 14500LEG SEA-SLC 8000 11500 7900 0 14500LEG PDX-PHX 5000 11500 9000 4500 14500LEG PHX-SEA 5000 11500 3000 0 14500Fly First...Play Later...--Noel
April 2, 200323 yr To All...Addendum to my last post...I believe ot would be possible to allow for more than 9 FBO_Names for each letter, but I don't know what file sets the limit. Perhaps somebody here might?Fly First...Play Later...--Noel
April 3, 200323 yr Noel,I am not sure how you correct this. I have recently tried to modify the AIPLAN.txt file in the Seattle region (I don't use outer terrain scenery) to stop AI planes "flying into the ground" (have you seen this one ?), or cruising through mountains ! I am not sure if this has been effective or not, but it highlights another rushed aspect of the original release of FU3. Many of the figures in the AIPLAN.txt file were simply set to zero, even though this was incorrect. The AIPLAN.txt file in the SanFran scenery area has all of the airport altitudes (and enroute altitudes) set to the correct (or at least more sensible) figures. After all, if two airports are separated by mountainous terrain, then the minimum altitude between these two points can hardly be zero, can it ? :-)Chris Low,ENGLAND.
