October 27, 200322 yr I'll post my cfg (and weather) file tomorrow to those that would like it ;)Also, I must remind one and all to reset back to 'normal', otherwise your FLED experience will be infuriating and disappointing. This is simply due to FLED trying to render the entire region, instead of just a megatile each way.As an aside, when commencing flights, it can take some time before the scenery is properly rendered. This is OK for 'proper' flights (you know, where you PLAN where you're going, use the radio and don't ignore ATC...) as there is plenty of time before one gets to the active runway. If you're like me and do a lot of 'quick flights' - especially ones that start at 5kft over the Cascades, be prepeared for some terrain-building over the first 2 minutes!BTW, I did some tests last night, using a new Nvidia FX5200 card. Now, with ALL packages loaded, a thunder storm or 2, full AI and over Seattle, I could actually pull the framerate down to 12fps on my PC (Athlon 1700+/512Meg/FX5200). Altering terrain detail from 103 (standard maximum) to 999, under identical conditions, brought the framerate to 10fps.This is a bit slower than my GE4MX440 card and probably due to the 8th-level anisotropy and 4XS AA. With the MX card I use level-2 aniso and Quincunx AA and normally get 18-22fps, although not in storms! Interestingly, the aniso makes little difference, except for slowing it down. Conversly, the 4XS AA is MUCH nicer than Quincunx ;)Jon Point*************************([email protected])*************************
