November 20, 200718 yr After a lot of test, CDTs, compromises with space and pictures and design of special switch / controls here a first result of the VFR panelhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/180860.jpg:-waveAndre
November 20, 200718 yr Cool ;)CPD can be a bear at times, I know. Can't wait to get the AN-2 rumbling down a runway :-waveRegards,Jon Point
November 22, 200718 yr Yes, it definitely looks like winner but I get a bit concerned...how will I land this aircraft when the nose / cowling blocks the view? Since I'm quite sure the view is correct I could rephrase this question: "How do real AN-2 pilots see where they're going?". It may be a question of checking right and left front quarter views (in FU3 parlance) and make some slow turns to disclose what's straight ahead.Hans Petter
November 23, 200718 yr Author Hi Hans Petter,Once the tail is down you don't see a lot in front but meanwhile I can land the AN-2 on the center line :-)Look here to see the reality :-waveAndre
November 23, 200718 yr Author Hi Thomas,This was the second infection, the first was 2004 on a passenger seat :-)Last View is F3, still a lot of instrument mess but the main picture is set.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181100.jpgand Hans Petter - definitely you can't land in F3 :-):-waveAndre
November 25, 200718 yr Looks worthy of a Jon or an Ansgar design - it certainly reminds me of the DC-3 series that Jon made a while back. Can't see the coffee-cup holder though. Are you doing the essentials last?As to landing - I reckon I could land it on a dime easily (just stick the dime to the left front wheel with superglue). Take your time on this one, agtim, I'm still exploring the latest Jon design (Stemme ST6) and enjoying floating over the countryside, and I look forward to trying this one when released.Umm, are all those switches going to work?Robert.
November 26, 200718 yr Yes, I can land that one :-) However, since we're all perfectionists, shouldn't the nose section show to some extent in this one too? I watched the youtube movie and see why you want that nose section / air intake to loom in front of the pilot. It's certainly there in real life. The higher your eyepoint the more it will show. Thus, if you straighten up to look above the panel you'll see more of the nose section.Regarding Rob's wish for a model I believe you have made one already. The first images you posted were to show the static model version.
November 27, 200718 yr Author now working on the remaining 3d models, just finish the LOD models (low polygon models for distant views)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181235.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181236.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181237.jpg:-waveAndre
December 4, 200718 yr Author A lot of work to make all 10 crash models, but now they are here, next one is the 3D-CockpitCrash area was around Bembridgehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181547.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181548.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181549.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181550.jpg:-waveAndre
December 4, 200718 yr Andre,Heartbreaking, isn't it?And Rob, yes I thought I was looking at your handiwork, although mine's close...Looks like you've taught Andre well :-lolRegards,Jon Point
December 5, 200718 yr Are we getting another biplane soon? I'm looking forward to flying the AN-2 :-)
December 6, 200718 yr Author not really soon, there is a lot finishing work :-(Main work will now be to adapt the air physic part so the behavior in flight will be as real as possible like an AN-2.This is my first adaptation and this will need some time, but is essential to get good flight simulation. I want to modify the ResViewer to modify air physic data directly. Actual flight behavior is like a Jon's D17F.Later I have to create sound files including the call sequences and last but not least a short description for the menu. Here is the finished 3D ( polygon limit reached )http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181634.jpg:-waveAndre
