Alternate airport

Featured Replies

One thing that would be nice to have in ver.3 is the possibility to land in an alternate airport. This option should be selected when building the adventure and not mandatory (it could take too long to define all radio freqs for another airport....)When weather conditions are prohibitive or just on a random base, ATC could decide to direct the plane to the alternate, or this could be a pilot's choice. Also would be appreciated the possibility to land to any other airport on the route, even not a planned one, for emergency reasons and with ATC not complaining for that...An example is a bad fuel management when you run out of fuel many miles before your destination or alternate. In that case you can look at the map and find a suitable close airport where to land and just tell ATC your intention.ATC will, of course, help you to reach the emergency field.Any comment is appreciatedThank you and cheersUgo Conventi

Hi Ugo,We know now that RCv3 will handle alternate airports (2 of them I believe). It also handles emergencies, apparently you can declare 9 different emergencies and ATC will vector you to a suitable airport of your choice, with proioity handling. Perhaps JD or Scott can elaborate?Cheers,Eoin.
