May 21, 200224 yr Scott, there's a lot of people experiencing problems with Takeoffs and EARLYrotation with the PIC panel... could it be related to the way ACLoader is distributing weight?Someone suggested to move the contact points further back, it will solve the early rotation problembut not the problems that may arise from having too much weight in the back of the plane...Does changing the empty weight MOI parameter change anything? advise!
May 21, 200224 yr The best thing to do with the PIC aircraft (and this can also be done with any aircraft since for obvious reasons the rear of the aicraft is going to be heavier than the front) is to use the weight shift function and move the weight CoG forward about 3-5 feet. If that's still not enough, then move it a little more. You shouldn't ever move the gear. You want the main hogies as close to the center of rotation as possible for a smooth rotation. For anyone having a constant problem with the early rotation, check the trim first. If you have to trim way way down, remove the load ("Empty" load for both pax and cargo) and see if that helps. If it does, then try the manual weight shift. If all else fails, send me the ACLOADER REPORT.txt and aircraft.cfg files.
May 22, 200224 yr Author Scott, I fixed my problem (I have almost all night testing) the solution for me was to make the cabin length a bit longer.. it was 150 ft for the 767-300 and that's wrong because checking the 767-300ER specs it is around 176 feet
May 22, 200224 yr Okay, if that works then great.I have a problem with the cabin length being 176 feet since the fuselage is 176 feet 1 inch, not the cabin length. The entire aircraft is 180 feet 3 inches long to tip of tail.Actually, the cabin length is less than 150'. http://avsim.com/flightdeck/temp/767-300.jpg One problem you are going to have by setting the cabin length >170 feet is that ACLoader will put in a mid-aft galley that doesn't exist in a 767. But like I say, whatever works.(additional)All this is moot anyway since ACLoader should effectively cancel the weight shift automatically. I don't have the PIC aircraft, so I don't know what the default ref datum point and CoG is, but V4 should fix all this.
May 22, 200224 yr Author Scott, do you have an ETA for v4.0? I use ACLoader DAILY.. do you already have beta testers? I use the Dreamfleet 737 and PIC 767 on a daily basis. Tell if I can be of any help.
May 23, 200224 yr Np date on release yet. I'll plead the Quality not Calendar thing JD and Doug have. ;-)If/when I need testers I'll let you know.
