June 16, 200223 yr Jamie did a great JobBut now I activate the AP with heading and alt and turn the plane over to her. Although it's a standard fs2002 (cessna 172) plane nothing happens, she won't respond to any command.Well she does respond but only for com ops and readbacks. Using nav3 as a planner she will not take control of the plane as she did before. Yes she has done her job, but it looks she on strike now.Anyone??

June 17, 200223 yr Thanks but I do know that,She has done a great job the first few flights.I installed a trial of fsatc2002 (to give it a try at vfr flights, shouldn't have done that!) just to find out RC is unbeatable so I removed it from my computer. After this sidestep Jamie has given up. When I give her the coms she does i great job. Giving her the plane (after the message from departure) she responds with "I got it". I enable the autopilot, heading and altitude on, there is no change alt stay's on 0000. I have to manualy set te altitude in the AP or I will crash. When the controller puts me on route, Jamie confirms the heading and altitude and that's it, nothing happens except for an angry controller.Checking the pilotmenu, I can switch back to "My Plane" and "My Com" so Jamie should be in full control.???
June 17, 200223 yr Commercial Member what plane are you using? some of the more sophisticated third party planes have their own autopilots, and rc cannot control them. does this problem occur with stock ms planes and panels? JD Read my blog
June 17, 200223 yr That's wha't it makes so weird. I'm using the default plane of fs2002 right out of the box, so no panel extra's, repaints or so just a regular Cessna 172 Skyhawk.I do use the tool where you can redirect the output to a docked frame and the RC2 menu for fs2002 for control of RC. But issueing the control keys directly has exactly the same effect.still puzzled??
June 17, 200223 yr Hunter,I noticed in each of your replies you state you turn on the altitude and heading. Are you also turning on speed? I think all three have to be on for Jamie to take the controls._________________Rick [email protected] SupportJDT LLC
June 17, 200223 yr Rick,Jamie doesn't know about speed. She can handle either altitude, heading, or both. She doesn't even know if the AP is on - just sets numbers.--------------------------Hunter,I'm afraid you messed up FS with the FSATC2002. MS already has it fairly messed up with adventures which they didn't support real well, and since FSATC2002 is an adventure processor, that can mean all sorts of problems if the removal wasn't complete. You are going to have to either find any modules that have been added, find all the FS2002.cfg and related file changes, find the trapping of AP commands that's been added, find registry entries that have been added, or just reinstall FS2002. Did you do a full uninstall of FSATC2002? Does it do anything other than just compile adventures (I haven't read the FAQ's or DLed the program? Also, trial versions are always a bad idea unless they are the full-blown program that uses the key to unlock all it's features.
June 17, 200223 yr Scott,I know Jamie doesn't handle the speed control. I've had customers send me notes that Jamie won't work unless all 3 are on. _________________Rick [email protected] SupportJDT LLC
June 17, 200223 yr Scott, you're right, it looks like fs202atc messed things up. Had to uninstall everything. Used te reg editor to clear left behinds. Then I reinstalled everything afresh. There she is taking control without any protest.Well, that makes me learn the hard way isn't it. You should stick with RC. That makes me wish RC would handle VFR and short flights with props as good as the IFR and long flights. Maybe a suggestion for v3. Anyway Jamie is back and thats all that matters now.btw. Is Jamie smart enough to handle SIDs and STARs?Hope SquawkBox won't mess up the situation again. Thanks out there, for your responses.
