July 27, 200223 yr I am currently flying the sample flights of RC.I took the adventure Kansas City to Chicago (KMKC - KORD).I have closely followed the instructions on your site [http://www.jdtllc.com/kmkc-kordv21.htm]At some place the instruction mention a "PD - pilot descretion clearance" and says : "Find explanations on PD clearances on RC's Web Pages."I have seached the RC site but can't find the explanation.- Can you tell me where it is ?I have seen many posts here regarding a V3 of RC.Should I wait to get RC or isn't the V3 to be released this year ?RegardsStevie :0)
July 27, 200223 yr Commercial Member oops ;-)pilot's discretion means, it is up to you when you start your descent. you can stay at your current altitude, without being nagged.now often, the pilot's discretion clearance is given with an "expect to cross 40 miles from xxx"together these two phrases means, you can start your descent anytime you want. BUT, you better be at the "expect" altitude, at the "expect" distance, or you WILL be yelled at.so you can start your descent when you are given the "PD", and make your crossing restriction with ease, OR continue at your current altitude, and dive bomb at the last minute to make your crossing restriction.v3 this year JD Read my blog
