July 30, 200223 yr hi..a friend and i plan to go on a simulated trip around the world. after fiddling around with the multiplayer mode of FS2002 we noticed that the Microsoft built-in ATC seems to be unavailable in multiplayer sessions.so now we're looking for alternatives, which brought us to RC (because for several reasons we don't feel "ready" for VATSIM-style online ATC). so here is what we hope we can do with RC:- compile an RC adventure for each leg of our trip - load it up to both our PC's. - start FS2002 on both PC's- load up the RC generated adventure- join the multiplayer session- fly the adventure (and use roger wilco for communication to each other)but here are some questions that came to our mind:- is the above procedure feasable with RC? will it work at all?- will there be any "interaction" between the two participants of the multiplayer session? (will my ATC be aware of my friends plane?)- is RC aware/compatible of/with the dynamic scenery planes? (will it route me around them?)- does anybody have experience with the multiplayer-mode? i hear it is quite unstable (or is this problem fixed in FS2k2?) we plan our legs not to be longer that aprox. 2 hours of flight. so if the multiplayer session is stable for let's say 3 hours we would be safe. any opinions on that one?thanks in advance for any comments!regardsmario
July 30, 200223 yr >- is RC aware/compatible of/with the dynamic scenery planes? ok, you can skip this one. i just found it out myself. obviously AI traffic (that was what i meant with "dynamic scenery") are disabled during adventures.but the other questions are still "active" :-)regardsmario
July 30, 200223 yr Actually FS2002 AI Traffic is disabled by a Multiplayer session, never mind an adventure.Stamatis

July 31, 200223 yr Mario,You might want to take a look at "FS2002 Artificial Intelligent ATC", by Manuel Ambulo. It's a freeware program that "has the ability to monitor, control and guide the traffic of an airport, during a FS2002 multiplayer session."I haven't tried it myself, but it sounds like something you and your fried could use.Look for AI_ATC12.ZIP at flightsim.com. The documentation can be downloaded separately as AITCDC12.ZIP, but it's unclear to me if that's also included in the main archive.
August 2, 200223 yr "has the ability to monitor, control and guide the traffic of an airport, during a FS2002 multiplayer session."Sounds interesting, but the minute one enters a FS2002 multiplayer session AI Traffic disappears. What does this program control then?Stamatis
August 2, 200223 yr I just had a look, and what it means by "traffic of an airport" is the (multi)players themselves, not AI Traffic.Stamatis
