September 1, 200223 yr Hi All,Can someone explain to me why RC most often does not select the arrival runway compatible with wind direction. It frequently happens to me that I am given vectors to a runway which results in my landing downwind. I know I can request a different runway (RC doesn't always respond by the way), but surely it is not standard practice to land downwind? I don't understand how RC interprets wind speed and direction when an adventure is compiled. What wind speed is needed for RC to select the appropriate runway? I also find that ATIS information, including the landing and departing runway is apparently ignored by the controller and I am given quite different QNH and landing runway info and instructions. What am I doing wrong?Quentin MooreIQMFAJS
