Hi everybody !I haven't used Radar Contact for a while now.As FS2002 came out I installed it and everything went well.then I used the FS Atc for I while and now coming back to RCWhen I try to load a RC adv. from the Flights menu FS crashes and a windows error massage appears, which is telling me that "ddhelp" has made an error ind gdi.exe.After pressing the close button the hole system is crashing (kernel error, rundll error, explorer error)...I think it might be no problem on RC, but maybe anyone has got an idea.Btw, any other "adventures" like the flight school works fine.I'm runnig FS on a Amd 1800 xp+, 512 Megs Ram, Crative Gforce 2 mxwith a lot of Add-on like Lagos FSoundscape, Emma-Field, FSUICP, FSMeteo, and some Plane Add-on (DF 737, PSS 777, PSS 747, PSS Airbus)and more freeware scenery and planes, everything works fine but how can I get my RC back ?Any help would be fineKarsten

don't think it is rc that is causing the problem. unless someone knows what the problem is, the only way to fix it, is to install fs2002, rc, and test rc adventures. then start loading add on's one at a time, until it breaks the rc adventure. then you know what caused the problem.

Thanks for yor reply !The complete re-install of FS would take me days ! And everything else is working fine ... The hole system is going well so I will leave it as is, until someone has got another idea or maybe RC3 will help me out of that awful MS guiding :-) (How do you get up a "Big Bird" like the 747 fully loaded up to a flight level 410 in 35 miles when you have to fly another 3500nm ? ;-)... just wondering... RC is an audio-event ... someone else using Lago's FS-Soundscape or Emma-Field with RC2.2 ? These progs play their sound via direktX, and - as far as I know- "ddhelp"- which seems to cause the error- is part of it ?!A last question, if the ***.adv file is generated correctly are there other influences that might cause this error (any files wich must be somewhere installed ? (surely the wav's but they are in place, also on FS 2000 on which RC wokrs fine as ever, haven't deleted FS2000 jet ;-)- or so )Nevertheless, thanks for replyKarsten

Karsten,Aha! ddhelp is DisplayDriverHELP and is linked to the directdraw and direct3D to your card drivers. gdi.exe is Geeral Display Interface. Try changing/updating drivers. I had this problem all the time with 2K2 until I updated my ATI Radeon drivers.I still can have problems with ddhelp when I go into/out of 2K2 in full-screen mode (to/from desktop to run other programs). There's also a major memory leak in 2K2 when doing this.I would suggest display card drivers are the problem. It may sound odd with all the add-ons being sound-intensive, but that can be the problem.(additional)Also, when you run an adventure, MS, for whatever reason, turns off ATC, so AI are lost and confused. You may wish to disable AI (set AI to 0%) when you run the RC adventure. Since ATC is turned off, this can also cause other add-ons to not run correctly. So try disableing other add-ons until you don't get lock-ups and you may find which is the problem that way.
