October 1, 200223 yr Hello, I've enjoyed RC now for almost three years. I've had few problems :-). However I came across an issue last night that I couldn't explain. Soon after being instructed to contact arrivals (which I did), before I was able to identify myself, the arrival controller was already mad: "I say again fly heading 355!".I had never recieved the original vector, so why was he repeating it? I don't know, anyways It happened again, and when I landed I recieved a humourous rebuke from THE MAN . The flight itself is a short flight between Victoria and Vancouver, regularily flown by regional airlines- does the length of a flight some times affect how ATC instructions are relayed! BTW I'm really looking foreward to RCv3! Cheers
October 1, 200223 yr Michael.Make sure you have at least two waypoints between the airports. Also, if you're using the FS Flight Planner, that can cause problems in that it doesn't always include all the info.Elimiating these two items, try it again. If you still get this, let us know.Which then brings up this question: does it happen every time? If not, what's different? Is this the first time you've flown this short a distance?
October 3, 200223 yr Michael,I've had this happen on more than one occassion. The problem is generally related to a bug in which a stream of ATC instructions are all being generated simultaneously and a "backlog" of messages builds up. RC starts timing you the moment the instruction(s) are issued internally which may or may not coincide when you actually *hear* them. By the time you received notice of the handoff, RC had expected you to have already switched freq's.Hopefully, this will be a problem addressed in v3.J

October 6, 200223 yr thanks for the replies! In regards to Scott's question, no I don't get the problem every time- as a matter of fact I just completed the same flight, and had no problems:-), so it was probably an anomoly or as Jase suggested a backlog created by the ambient chatter. Cheers!
