October 11, 200223 yr During a normal deviation for weather, ATC wants me back on course. I'm using FS Meteo and FS FlightMax Radar. Directly ahead (50 miles)on my course severe storm echos (reds and yellows). If I can deviate 10-15 degrees right of course I will bypass the weather. ATC refuses... (states I can request again after passing my next checkpoint). I want to stay on course for ATC but not by flying thru major turbulence. Will V3 address this issue while I am using "live" weather with FS FlightMax??????? Thanks for a great product!!Vincent CarloVirginia, USA
October 11, 200223 yr Commercial Member usually, if you ask again after being refused, you will granted your requeststhere are cases where that isn't truei can't allow you to deviate for weather, if you are close (within 20-25 miles) of your next checkpoint. otherwise, you may never progress that checkpoint and get "credit" for iton the other hand, you could request direct the checkpoint after the next point, and then ask for deviations for weather. this would be a good strategy if the next checkpoint is right in the middle of the weather.that is one of the downsides of having hundreds of checkpoints at 20 mile intervals (may not be the case here), but i've seen it in some flight plans. you can never deviate, because you are always too close. October 11, 200223 yr Thanks for the quick reply, JD. I didn't realize we could ask again after ATC refusal. Kinda like when we were kids and momma said "no", we would run and ask dad. (course my dad always said, "go ask your momma"):-lol Looking forward to V3, along with everyone else. Keeps gettin' better and better. Radar Contact, FS Meteo, FS FlightMax, Flight Deck Companion, could probably save money by buying lessons and renting a real plane.:-smile12 Vincent CarloVirginia USA
