Radar Contact and FDC

Featured Replies

Hello Group, Just like to mention that I received the FDC package today and that it integrated very well with RCV3. It is now a pleasure to use a fine ATC program with in-cabin verbal commands. I wish I had known about FDC before because I made some comments which, unfortunately, led to possibly hurting other forum users' feelings. One question for JD. As FDC and RC do have some redundant Co-Pilot verbage can I delete the now redundant RC Fleetwood voice files so it minimizes any possible conflict between the two programs? These two programs are exceptional. Of course that is my opinion.Regards

since i don't have FDC installed, i can't say yes or no to your question about deleting files.backup your 0 directory, and start whacking files. let us know what you find out.maybe you can even write a section of the manual "how to make FDC work with Radar Contact"

Yes, that is the procedure I will use. Will keep you folks informed. Have to watch out not to delete any singulars. I also mentioned RCv3 in my original note. That should have been RCv2.2.Regards

Thanks for the input Blais. I ordered FDC yesterday and it should be in Monday. One more excuse for my wife to call me nuts.

I find RC and FDC work together very nicely. After removing fltcrw from RC all I have are duplicate rotate calls. It would be nice to get this sorted.

look in 0there are 4 files cpv1, cpv2, cpvr, cpascchk (i think). delete them, and you will not have dup v-calls

Hi, Seems as though the basic FDC and RC run very well on my machine. By basic I mean the FDC that comes on the original CD. Unfortunately my machine, running XP PRO, will not allow the installation of the v1.1 patch. I'm trying to contact the FDC software folks. Will keep you posted on their response, assuming they have seen FDC and patch installed on a system running XP PRO.Regards

sometimes with XPpro you need to logon as the "administrator" in order to install software??John

Hello John, Yes I do understand that. I am logged in as the administrator. Thanks

Yes sir JD, I am posted on that site but, as of now, still haven't received an idea as to what may be causing the problem. At present I suspect the patch itself. I am hoping for a definitive response from the FDC crew. I just thought I might post this one on the RC forum as many of the RC users also have FDC.Regards

Hello Group, PROBLEM RESOLVED I would just like to say that FDC creator, Dave March, responded to this problem in the wee hours of my morning. Dave sent me the contents of the original zipped-patch file and suggested I install it manually. I did just that and now I'm off to the races. Thank you Dave.Regards

I am looking foward to the new release of RC....What is FDC?Eddie
