Something I read in the manual ????? RC-3 Team

Featured Replies

While reading the manual it stated that at some point during the install you will send by e-mail a request of a key???Why would I need to do that when I will have the CD version?????Now after having to wait until December just to order RC-3.I might not get it until after Christmas....I then have to wait another possible 24 hours to use it????Now I understand why you might let current users get the new version first, But why have to wait two weeks before us new users can order. Then after receiving RC-3 we have to wait more....I am kind of upset that after reading in this forum which said you should wait until RC-3 because of the learning curve with both versions and that RC-3 was totally different, that now I have to wait so long just to order.I hope the RC-3 team might change there minds and let us new users order sooner...I am not flaming the RC-3 team Just wanting to make a point.I have credit card in hand.......... Eddie

Hi Eddie,Depending on our workload the wait for your activation key should not be that long! In today's society software authors are forced to add some sort of copy protection to protect their investment. We don't like it either but JD needs to protect his investment. The 2 week time period between when current users can order and new users can order is to give us time to ship their copies and be able to start fresh when the new users begin to order.I'll be up front with you. We have the Christmas mailing season coming causing a mail slow down. We hope to have a large number of orders meaning your order may not ship for a day or two. We will process orders in the order they are received. Only fair, right? Finally if the wait bothers you this much why not postpone ordering Radar Contact until May or June? I hope this answers your concerns!

( Do not have to like it) >I'll be up front with you. We have the Christmas mailing >season coming causing a mail slow down. We hope to have a >large number of orders meaning your order may not ship for a >day or two. We will process orders in the order they are >received. Only fair, right? Yes this is good policy.....>Finally if the wait bothers you this much why not postpone >ordering Radar Contact until May or June? This is where I take offence to your reply!!!And your tag line states you are customer support????You must not have read my post very well or maybe you did not understand MY point of view! I was willing to buy the current version and then upgrade to RC-3. I was told in an email from Doug that although he would like to have my money I should wait because of the learning curve between RC-2.2 and RC-3. I thought him telling me that showed what a class act the RC team was and I told him for that very reason I would buy RC-3 when released. Now because of your snide comment about waiting till May or June (Which was way out of line!) I might have to wait and see what other type of customer support is given before I buy!I have a right to voice my point of view! I did not flame the team nor did I take a cheap shot at them. I was hoping that with my post that they might reconsider the wait. Your first part of your post let me know the reasons for the delay. The smart comment was not needed!Eddie

Hi Eddie,I apologize!! I was not trying to be funny, snide or or anything else but give you an honest answer. It was only meant as a suggestion!! Nothing more!!Yes you do have a right to voice your opinion and I respect you for that. Again I apologize!!

Thanks Rick for the reply.....You know holding this credit card in hand until Dec is going to be hard....Eddie
