November 23, 200223 yr I just noticed that it will be a full installation and not an upgrade, so should one un-install v.2 first? Will it install itself in a new library or should you install it on top of v2?Maybe a stupid question, but i don't want to risk to many problems when the day comes! :-)CheersLars Kl
November 23, 200223 yr Commercial Member uninstall version 2, delete the advwavfleetwood directoryv3 will go in a new directory. wavs go in rcv3winwood JD Read my blog
November 23, 200223 yr If none of your other programs use APLC32, it can also be deleted. It is no longer needed.
November 23, 200223 yr Thank's JD - well, i better save the chatterfiles and copy them in afterwards - before erasing the fleetwood-library or should they be installed as well? And if they have to, will there be problems now you've changed the name of the library from Fleetwood to Winwood? As i recall, the installation of these files places them in the Fleetwood library?!..
November 23, 200223 yr Commercial Member unless you have chatter files that i don't have, there is no reason to keep fleetwood at all. just a waste of spaceif you have chatter files that i don't have, then save them, and read the section in the manual on how to add chatter files to the new rcv3winwood directory.don't rename fleetwood to winwood. won't work for a number of reasons.uninstall version 2, delete the fleetwood directory (unless you have your own files), install version 3 JD Read my blog
November 23, 200223 yr Hehe - i think you are aware of them - those almost 200 MB of chatter files i downloaded from the old site of yours.. Since i download the program, i still need these if i want the chatter?
November 23, 200223 yr Commercial Member all the version 2 chatter is in version 3, in the winwood directory.if you have chatter i don't have, then you will need to save it. if the chatter you have is what came with version 2, then you can safely delete the fleetwood directory. when you install version 3, you will have the choice of a full (all the chatter, all the controllers , all the pilots), or a minimum install (just controllers and pilots) JD Read my blog
November 23, 200223 yr Good catch, Rick! Now, why didn't I think of that a year ago when I stopped using ver 2.2 completely? :-hah Rob
November 23, 200223 yr Thank's again. I wasn't aware that one had the option of a downloaded installation with all the chatterfiles. With vers. 2 one had to have the CD to get it. I have DSL, so it's only a matter of patience.. :-lolSo now i can just wait - which also demands patience.. :-)
November 23, 200223 yr Rob,I finally took v2.2 off my machine this past week and the time it took to do a full system backup dropped considerably. Having V2.2 and V3 on your hard drive does take up a bunch of space.
November 23, 200223 yr Opps, I meant to say uninstall APLC32 in my post above. Sorry about that folks.
November 24, 200223 yr he he Hang in there, buddy. :-sun1 With such a great manual, there shouldn't be too many questions! ;-) Everyone is going to be learning the real deal with ATC in RC3. It's a huge leap in realism from RC2 and a quantum leap from FSATC. Should be plenty of good discussions on proceedures going on after the release. I've learned a good deal about ATC by testing RC, but there's still more to be learned. I hope some of the more experienced real world pilots will comment on this forum as well. :-)Best, Rob
