November 26, 200223 yr I will preface my query by saying that I have downloaded the manual! I have perused it :-shy ...not read it in its entirety...Now on to my question... Will we be given different speed assignments on our approach like "Air Canada 1152, reduce speed to 230 Kts" Then later "Air Canada 1152 reduce speed to 200Kts"? Or do we just have to remain below 250 Kts below 10000ft for all phases of approach? Or 230kts below 6000?Thanks and I will not ask any more foolish questions without reading the whole manual. Thanks, Adam :-)
November 26, 200223 yr Commercial Member you won't be given specific speed restrictions during the approach phase, you will be admonished if you are >230 during downwind, and >210 on base. JD Read my blog
November 26, 200223 yr Great. Thanks JD. Sure you can't get this out the door a bit faster? }> I live in Canada and would like to have it under the Xmas tree. If I'm a really good boy, I will be allowed to open one gift on Xmas eve, and we all know which one it will be! :( Adam
November 27, 200223 yr JD,At certain altitude/phase points I am told not to exceed 230 and 210 knots and not busted for it at the end. Only if I don't decelerate in a timely manor. On the other hand, you've gotten me so well trained that I'm usually at the right speed at the right time anyway. ;-)
