November 30, 200223 yr Hello team,I have read the thread on the Genral Forum site and I have to say that I am very pleased to read that now there is a good alternative for the deafault ATC.I did not even use that, but flew with Proflight 2000 in fs2002.That works very nicely till the final approach where it suddenly wants to vector you away form the runway.Sometimes it even lets you fly over the airport.Luckily we now have RC3.I have 3 questions :1 I fly with Game Commander. Is there a simple way to shut down the captains voice and throw in Game Commander ?Perhaps to attach Captains phrases to keypresses and that attached to Game Commander or so ?2 I have a Wideview based cockpit , so I do not use AI aircraft. Will still there be ATC backgound chatter for flights arriving and departing ?3 When departing are arriving I want to fly the specific pattern ( Sids and stars ) . Does RC3 support that ? I do not want to be 'corrected' flying the wrong direction when flying a pattern.Perhaps some questions are allready answered but I am in the midle of my cockpit building project and am only now and then on the IN.But I have very high interests in the programm. Thanks for responding,Gerard SaldenBeta Tester WideviewBeta Tester FsLandclass
November 30, 200223 yr Commercial Member 1) i know of at least one beta tester that uses a voice regognition program to control radar contact. he would be better suited to answer this question. i can answer part of. there is an option to utrn off the pilot's voice in rc, so you can speak.2) yes. if you are in an area with pre-recorded chatter, you will hear that. if you are in an area of no pre-recorded chatter, i will generate chatter between the controller you're speaking to, and "chatter pilots" which are a group of pilot wavs recorded by others.3) yes to sids. yes to stars, not to be confused with approaches. stars end when you contact approach. once you contact approach, you can request any specific "iap" approach, and be granted that request.download the manual, and see what else we might have thrown in there, that you might like ;-) JD Read my blog
November 30, 200223 yr I don't use Game Commander but I do use FS2002 Flight Assist. It is a voice recognition program that replaces keyboard entries. It works perfectly with RC in allowing me to control RC and never touch the keyboard for routine entries. As JD mentioned, there is an option to turn off the pilots voice, so Game Commander should work just fine, but I haven't tested it.Larryhttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/RCbeta.jpg
