December 5, 200223 yr I have not yet gotten off the ground since installing ver. 3 on Tuesday night. My problem is that I am able to listen to ATIS, pick up my clearance, obtain taxi instructions but once I get to the hold short lines I am unable to contact tower. Even if I tune the frequency manually, I get nothing I still hear the chatter going on in the background and Fsatc issuing its own commands but I am unable to contact tower by hitting 1. This is where all my flights have ended. Please help !!Max.
December 5, 200223 yr Max,Try is this way:While you are taxing to the runway, give the comms to your co-pilot by pressing Cntl + Shift + k. Then when you are holding short of the runway, set your parking brakes. This is the que for your co-pilot to contact Tower.See if this works and tell us what happens. Do you get a response from the Tower?Subshttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/RCbeta.jpg

December 5, 200223 yr Thanks for the suggestion subs, when I get home from work this evening I will try that. JD, the tower frequency if I recall is 120.50-KBUF and the menu item was as follows 1.Contact tower, 2.Req runway. When I select option 1, while holding short nothing happens. The radio does not autotune to tower freq even though it did when I was at the gate. By the way this is with the DF737. Thanks again for the hardwork and great customer support.Max

December 6, 200223 yr Okay people, thanx for all your help with my problems. I finally completed my KBUF-KJFK flight and it was a beauty. Every thing worked the way it should Kudos to the Radar contact team for a very well designed product. My problem was solved by changing all my response options from the default single digit replies to CTRL+SHFT 1,2,3 and so on. After configuring it that way in the options menu, I was able to ask for clearance, taxi and I even obtained T/O instructions from the tower without any problems. I even got high praise for the flight after a flawless landing upon breaking out of the overcast at 500ft. Thanx JD and all involved, this was worth the wait !!Max
December 6, 200223 yr Do you have to use the Co-Pilot with Radar Contact? We were hoping to use this in our simulator. We would like to adjust all freq's ourselves.
December 6, 200223 yr The co-pilot and auto-tuning are two separate things. If the co-pilot is on comms then she does tune and talk. But if she's not, you can unselect "Tune on Contact" and you tune manually.
