Comm Frequencies

Featured Replies

Am I right in this assumption ?It looks like I have to change all the com frequencies that default into RC3 in order to keep MSFS ATC silent.I had changed the key commands to separate the menu from MSFS ATC.But it became apparent that if you dial the ATIS or what ever frequency listed in RC3 it's common to MSFS, thus you hear both ATC audio.Am I missing something and does this have to be done each time you load a new flight plan? Thanks

the idea is to be on the same frequency as ms.you can turn the ms atc volume down, or deselect it totally, under the fs2000 options sound.

So the idea of monitoring MSFS ATC on COMM 2 ( as outlined in the manual ) would require frequency changes to RCV3. Otherwise I can just turn on /off MSFS ATC for monitoring via the sound options menu.Is that how it works?

you can listen to ms atc on comm2 and rc atc on comm1 simultaneously, no frequency changed need

If both are on the same comm freqencies, what's the sense of setting two radios. As soon as I tune one I pick up both RC3 ATC and MSFS ATC. AS I see it as long as both programs share their ATC on the same comm frequency, comm 1 or comm 2 offers no control over either programs ATC unless you differenciate their frequencies.

AS I see it as long as both programs >share their ATC on the same comm frequency, comm 1 or comm 2 >offers no control over either programs ATC unless you >differenciate their frequencies. Let me see if this clears it up for you.Comm 1 and Comm 2 have nothing to do with each other. Nothing. You set your active radio to Comm 2, and do not have "Both" on the audio panel. FSATC will play through Comm 2. You do not need to change anything on Comm 2 if you don't want to listen to FSATC.RC uses Comm 1. It doesn't care what's the active radio. When you tune to ATIS through RC, Comm 1 changes to ATIS, you hear RC ATIS. You do not hear FSATC ATIS. The only way to hear FSATC ATIS is to tune Comm 2 to the airport ATIS. You have no reason to do that.Tune Comm 2 to the airport ground freq using the usual way to tune FSATC, the accebt key (` to open the FSATC window, then 1 or whatever to tune). Here's one really important thing to consider. You will want to change your RC 1,2,3,4 key assignments to something like CS-1 CS-2 CS-3 CS-4. Then the RC functions and the FSATC functions and the engine control functions are separate.Does that help?

Thanks Scott.Now I got it.Appreciate you and JD's help.
