ADV DISP interference with FSMeteo

Featured Replies

Someone else and I both posted a couple of days ago that we were seeing a difference in WX between cockpit-view and virtual cockpit. Tonight I isolated the problem and it appears to be caused by ADV DISP. When I UNdock ADV DISP the weather is one way regardless of the view. When it is docked the view (and WX, i.e., wind direction, cloud cover, etc.) changes between cockpit-view and virtual cockpit.I don't know what could be causing this since I have used ADV DISP with RCV2 for at least a couple of years and had no problem. Wonder if it is something with this version of ADV DISP that is not compatible with my aircraft (PSS747) or some other setting. This also seems to be having an effect on my AI traffic and that may be why I am not seeing AI in flight.Any suggestions. Still having loads of fun. Just need to work through this one problem that may be isolated to just a few of us.Jeff Evans

i can't imagine. almost every beta tester has fsmeteo. we all see ai planes.it maybe low resources on your machine, i think the first thing FS sacrifices when it is low, is ai planes

Thanks, JD. I'm actually more concerned about the WX changes when shifting views than the AI. Will experiment with FS WX today and see if the problem is still there. Not running an extremely fast processor (AMD 750) but have 650 megs of RAM and I defrag daily. Will continue to check and let you know what I find. Thanks again.Jeff Evans

I too had this exact problem with FSMETEO and Adventure Display. Also, I had no AI traffic showing in the 3D environment. I did fix it though. I went to the fs2002/modules directory and noticed I had 2 adv display dll files, one called advdisp.dll and another called advdisp.bad_dll. To be safe I removed both and downloaded the latest version. Now all is fixed and working 110%. Hope this works for you too.Robert

Just made a flight and did see a couple of airborne AI. WX problem is not there anymore since I re-installed AdvDisp. May have been some type of conflict there. Thanks!Jeff Evans
