December 11, 200223 yr Let me first say, I just received RCV3 and I'm very pleased with the first couple of flights. And, no voice hesitation to speak of, thus far. Really like the 'pick the number' approach to selecting the ATC options. One aspect that I don't know if others have experienced. When running FS2002, FS Meteo, FS Navigator 4, RCV3 and FlightSim Flight Max, I get stutters in FS2002 and 'flashes' in FSN and FSMax (i.e. hesitations, with the FSMax screen flashing on and off a lot. By closing down eith FSMax OR FSN, it goes away, so obviously there are some resource issues here when all are running. I'm a bit surprised, given what I believe is pretty small signatures for each of these programs (excepting FS2002). Using the Cheyenne 400 plane. My specs:P4 2.4512 megs 1066 RDRamRadeon 7500 Pro (latest drivers)Most options maxed out in Options (with good results thus far)Western Dig. 80 gig HD (with 8 Meg cache)Built in sound, LANCH FS Yoke ProCH Pro Pedals, both USBAny similar experience or comments?
December 11, 200223 yr FS2K2 is sucking almost all the video resources. So the only thing I can suggest is:1) If you have a second networked system, use that with WideFS for RC and FS_Meteo (or Flight Max if you can),2) Set the priority of Flight Max higher, although you may lose some quality in RC.You are simply running out of resources, no matter the system. FS just really sucks it down badly.I have a PIII 600 and can run 2K2 set to medium-high, RC, FS_Meteo, and my own aircraft monitoring program all with no problem. However, I also run RamBooster, and with the FS leaks I do get a lot of memory optimization going on from time to time.I prefer to run RC and FS_Meteo and the monitor program on my second system.
December 11, 200223 yr Thanks, I expect you are right. I see I identified the wrong video card, I actually have the 9700 Pro, so video resources should be as high as they can be given the state of the art.I"m going to fiddle with various settings and resource 'drainers' and see what if anything makes a difference.
December 11, 200223 yr >>...I also run RamBooster...Scott, I knew there was somthing missing from my system!-))) Could you please mail the file as I unable to find it! I have only ever ran it on W98, are you running it on XP?CheersDave.
December 11, 200223 yr Dave,Nope. I'm still a 98 user - and thus why I don't have all these slow wavs and other problems. :-lol(just for reference, it's my little nothing PIII 600 system that's become the benchmark for the wav play speed :-lol)I'll e-mail the program to you, but I don't know if it'll work on ZP.
December 11, 200223 yr Hello Scott,I think there may be some form of conflict problem. I use three add-ons - RC, FSMax and FDC - I also have a networked system, the server is a P 2.8 and the client AMD 1.4. I've tried combinations of 2 of the three adds on the client and none work well together. By that I mean lock ups. At present, I'm rotating permutations of uses on the server and client. The worst problems at least for me is the use of RC and FDC. After a brief period of working correctly together FDC shuts down citing quite silly reasons for so doing. For eg quoting a file the prog was unable to find - a file that does not exist. I'm now at the point of using only RC on the client and FSMax on the server. FDC I've dropped for the time being.Bud
December 11, 200223 yr lololThanks, Scott. With a P3 733 I went back to W98 and put my NAV, WXRE etc on another pc via WideFS, with out this extra burden and a 64mb card it rattles along nicly! After going back to 98 I put enditall ect on but kept thinking there was somthing missing! -))) When Santa brings my new 2Ghz puter I might go back to XP & just wondered if you had it working, although I doubt very much if it would since XP is built from a totaly different kernal.ThanksDave.
December 11, 200223 yr Commercial Member fdc will be fixing the rc/fdc problem. until then, make sure you load rc BEFORE loading fdc JD Read my blog
December 12, 200223 yr Hmmm, JD-does the order of starting the various programs have any importance? That is, after starting FS2002, is RCV3 the next or ???.
December 12, 200223 yr Commercial Member in the case of fdc and rc, YES.dave marsh will release an update to fix the fdc problem. until then, start fs200x, fsmeteo/activesky/etc, rc, then fdc (if you have it) JD Read my blog
