December 14, 200223 yr Hello, I recieved my key this morning- went in like a charm. But, like others, when i tried my first flight, I had no sound from RC3. I promptly updated the drivers for my sound card, but it didn't help. I turned off my sound acceleration, but that didn't help. If I run RC3 by itself , and press the speaker icon, I get sound, but otherwise its dead airspace I'm afraid. Here's my set-up:Windows98 first version.1.4g AMD Tbird cpu512megs sdramvisiontek/nvidia GeforceII mx 32meg vid. cardSound Blaster SBpc128 sound cardFs2002 Any thoughts or insights will be greatly appreciated. Cheers.P.S. I kept RC2.2 installed, just in case.
December 14, 200223 yr Commercial Member what soundblaster driver are you using?are you able to increase the number of simultaneous wavs setting? rick has a post somewhere on how to do this. JD Read my blog
December 14, 200223 yr Hi, No, I'm not able to adjust the number of waves played simultaneously on this card. The driver is the latest driver(W9x.exe) Revision:R128-DRV-W3-US Date:1032002. And although it adds some features, the number of waves it can play is not among them. It's a fairly new card, so I'm suprised that it doesn't work. cheers!
December 15, 200223 yr So, since i cannot configure my card to play many waves simultaneously, is this program unusable for me? I've read all the threads about sound problems and I've done everything that has been suggested that I can do. I realy would rather not have to return this product.
December 15, 200223 yr I Never say never. I'll let you know if there's no way to do simultaneous wavs. I'm researching it.My success is so far 100%.
December 15, 200223 yr Hi, that's excellent- I've just come from the creative site, but I was unable to find out any information beyond the specs of the card. Cheers!P.S. did this problem present itself in Beta testing, or is this one of those annoying unforseen occurances:-) ?
December 15, 200223 yr I used Sound Blaster SBPCI128 sound card and had the same prob. And I tried everything suggested here and went around the world on the net to find some clue to solve the prob but nothing went right. So I gave up trying and purchased not expensive but high quality SB Live 5.1. Then everything went that's supposed to be, should be.;)Cheers,BORRO(RJTT)
December 15, 200223 yr Thanks; that's not great news- a new sound card just isn't in the budget here- now what do i do with this software? Unfortunately, no where in the system requirements in the manual does it even mention the soundcard- If I'd known, i would have bought the souncard now and RC3 later. Cheers!
December 15, 200223 yr Hello; Sorry about this, and please understand that I've got no gripes about RC- I've been a user for 3 years and have enjoyed every minute of it and I hope that we can try this again in the not too distant future. Thank- You and your team for all your hard work and to all of you a Merry Christmas. Cheers!
