December 15, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi JD,For users of Windows XP follow these steps to make Radar Contact start with a Priority of AboveNormal. Before you start make sure you know the path to where RCV3.EXE is installed as you will probably need to amend the relevant entry below.1. Press Start and navigate to Radar Contact. Don't left-click or this will launch RC. Right-click on the icon and choose Properties.2. The Target entry determines how Radar Contact will start. Copy and Paste one of the following entries over the existing one amending the path to RCV3.EXE as necessary.%comspec% /C "start /ABOVENORMAL E:RadarContact3rcv3.exe"if you have rcv3.exe installed in a different directory, replace the e:radarcontact3rcv3.exe with your path3. The "Start in:" entry remains unchanged. Click OK to confirm the change. Now, each time you launch Radar Contact the program will automatically start with a priority of AboveNormal which I find works fine with my system. If you want RC to have a higher priority change ABOVENORMAL to HIGH ensuring you leave a space after the word.To check RC3 is running with a higher priority, right-click on the Windows taskbar and select Task Manager. Select the Processes tab and if you can't see the Priority column select View / Select Columns from the menu and place a tick in Base Priority and press OK.Ray ProudfootCheshire, England JD Read my blog
