Handoff from tower to departure

Featured Replies

Everything is fine up to where tower hands me off to departure.Tower tells me to contact departure at 125.50, I acknowledge, manually change the frequency and try and contact departure.Departure never responds and tower just keeps telling me to contact departure. After a minute or two tower, tells me to contact center, and the center screen appears, but I can'nt contact any one!I have auto reply off and manual tuning on RC3.Help!!!Tony in Miami.

Tony,Look in your RC Controllers settings and see what frequencies are listed there. See if what you are hearing is what you are supposed to tune to. I have yet to have any problem with no tune of contact unless I don't have a freqency in the weather field. If nothing else, when you start RC, save a dat. Then you can send that along with the .FLT and .RC3 file to me to check out.Check it first, try it again, then e-mail me if the problem persists. I'll tell you what files I need.

Scott, the only way everything works fine is if I select auto Tune and auto reply in RC3. I tried emailing you the files that were requested, don't know if I used the right email [email protected], Tony

Tony,Yes, I got them. Thanks. I'll give it a go and see what I can come up with.

Tony,I can comfirm your problem here. With "tune on contact" unchecked, when told to contact DEP, nothing happens - just hiss. I'll look further and see if there's any way around this. There have been some reports of problems with this feature. The best I can offer is to pause FS, go into Options in RC, check "Tune on Contact", unpause FS, click 1, after contacting, pause FS, go into Options in RC, uncheck "Tune on Contact", unpause FS, and go from there. You'll have to do this every time this issue happens. This is also true at airports with no ATIS frequency to get weather brief. It's either that or don't uncheck "Tune on contact" until we can see what the issue is.Would all the people using RC with "Tune on Contact" UNCHECKED, please note when it works and when it doesn't.Tbanks.

you sir, found the first post release bug. "tony in miami" has been imortalized in the code as a comment next to the fix.it took about 40 seconds to find it. if anyone has any doubt of the power of saved .dat files, stop doubting.

Congrats, Tony! Good on ya! ;-)

I swear, you guys have the best customer service around!!!I tried the new rc3.exe file and it works like a charm.thanks,Tony in Miami

>>I tried the new rc3.exe file Was this just sent to Tony for testing or is there/will they be a general release of this new .exe?

it just went to tony for testing. the rest of the beta team is testing it too.i'm looking at why some people get 100% go arounds, but i haven't found that. maybe someone who is having that problem, can send me a .dat prior to the go around, i can debug that. i can't duplicate here.
