December 17, 200223 yr I still use RC 2.2. When flying over Canada, I have no chatter at all. It is getting quiet boring on these longhauls from Europe to the western US...When I had RC 2.2 installed on my old computer, there was the default american chatter in canadian airspace as well. Can somebody help me?
December 17, 200223 yr Hi Andreas,The rc3winwoodcanada folder is the crucial one here.It includes some Canadian chatter (for example atc1 containing the low centre controller). However you need chatter in the atc2 and atc3 folders. The quick fix (if you are happy with the us chatter playing) is to copy the contents of the usaatc2 and atc3 folders into the canadaatc2 and atc3 folders (no overwriting of .wav files should occur). If you have specifically Canadian chatter you want to use then check the section in the manual on adding chatter files. All the best,John
December 17, 200223 yr Commercial Member john is mostly right.after you copy the files to atc2 and atc3go into atc2 and rename the files from atc1nnn to atc2nnn where nnn is the sequence numberthen go to atc3 and rename the files from atc1nnn to atc3nnn where nnn is the sequence number JD Read my blog
December 17, 200223 yr Hi jd,True if copying the files from canadaatc1.I suggested copying the files from usaatc2 and atc3 in which case no renaming would be needed ;-)All the best,John
December 17, 200223 yr Commercial Member you're so smart!but it won't be canadian :-(i thought generated chatter would occur if there were no wavs in the atc2 and atc3 directories.forgive me for not reading your post as closely as i should have.two go arounds and one aborted take off for me :-) JD Read my blog
December 17, 200223 yr Hi jd,I thought there would be generated chatter too. Maybe out over the sea?Andreas, did you ever get any of the RC 'generated' chatter when over land in Canada? It doesn't play if you are over the sea (the pre-recorded chatter does). All the best,John
December 17, 200223 yr Hi guys, there is a small problem: you are talking about the modifications in RC3 but I stated in my post that the problem exists when using RC version 2.2. So, I would like to know how I can get the old american chatter back to Canada in RC 2.2 ...
December 17, 200223 yr Oops, sorry.jd, send Andreas a complementary copy of v3 to save my blushes ;-)RC2.2 should play the default USA chatter. I've wiped it off my system now so can't really test this.My apologies for not reading carefully enough. All the best,John
