Bit-wise, it depends on what you intend to do. If you want really graphic, clear, crisp sound with lots of response, like with the new CD-ROM shoot-em-up games, or music playing, then the more bits the better. Otherwise, 16 bits is plenty.

JDI take your point......Obviously my Ensoniq Card is so ancient there is no point in trying to get it to reach such dizzy heights.That being the case I have just purchased and installed a new Sound Blaster card......the good news is that RC3 now works beautifully.Thanks for the advice......I'm off flying !!
