Approach vectors to soon

Featured Replies

A couple of times I've starting getting radar vectors (I'm already using notams) to my selected runway (in the RC Controller Destination options) before the menu posts giving me the opportunity to select the approach type and runway selection of my choice. I ignore the vector since it would take me off course to the IAF or nearest waypoint to it which I include in the flight plan anyway. One such approach is coming in from the NW to KGRB by flying to the GRB VOR, the OB on R195 to the FAMIS IAF/LOM GR for going OB on the ILS for the PT. I start getting vectors prior to GRB.Any ideas other than just ignoring it?

Yes, the default approach vectors to the ILS started before any destination options such as IAP choice occur. Only after I ack but ignore the first approach vector of the RC selected approach do I get the destination choices. Also putting in a waypoint to get to the IAF is ignored by approach. Perhaps in a future version, if any waypoints are in the plan other than the destination airport at the time approach would start vectoring, the approach options should appear at that time. The menu could include vectors to the preselected RW or active procedure (as determined by RC) as a default continue option.
