December 28, 200223 yr Hi,As with my previous problem, I have done many flights to be sure that I have this new problem. And its the same every time.My Problem:The destination weather in FS and the destination weather shown on FSMeteo are always completely different. This has also happened on every flight that I have taken with RC. I ignored it at first, but the problem started getting more pronounced. For example, last night I did a flight from KDTW to KEWR. Radar Contact automatically sets up the "lock destination weather" feature of FSMeteo. The weather said winds of 280 and 10ks, clear skies and 10SM visibility. RC vectored me to Rwy 22L, quite correctly. However, that weather never made it into FS. On downwind, and final, there was overcast conditions at 3000ft. And the winds were 000 at 5kts. I checked FSMeteo again and sure enough it was still reporting clear skies, winds 280 at 10kts. I refreshed it, and it gave me the same thing....winds 280 at 10kts, clear skies. I went to the NOAA website and checked weather for KEWR and it was reporting exactly the same weather as FSMeteo. However, back in FS, the weather was completely different. Ceiling at 3000ft and winds 000 at 5kts. I landed, shut down at the gate. Did the flight critique and RC shut down.......I then refreshed FSMeteo again and the weather in FS updated to show the correct weather as reported by FSMeteo. I have done this on numerous flights and I find the same thing. When I shut down RC, after landing, my weather updates to the correct weather. But its always incorrect while RC is running.....(only the destination weather - this doesn't seem to be a problem with departure weather or enroute weather).I must make one confession here. I generally do not "leave frequency to get wx". Instead I rely on the FSMeteo display to give me the correct destination weather. That's the reason why I noticed this problem.Any suggestions would be welcome.Lagaz.
December 28, 200223 yr Commercial Member to start, what versions of fs meteo, fsuipc and advdisp? JD Read my blog
December 28, 200223 yr Hi,I have the latest versions of all three programs.FSMeteo 5.2FSUIPC 2.95The latest version of advdisp. Thanks.Lagaz.
December 28, 200223 yr Lagaz, check FSUIPC and see if you inadvertantly checked "no external weather control".If it's not checked, then try reinstalling FSUIPC. Make sure you delete the FSUIPC.ini file. Also, see what distances you hzve FS_Meteo set for. These are vbery good distances to use:Distance to Adv Dist: 60Destination Lock distance: 20
December 28, 200223 yr Hi,Thanks, I'll check those settings. Unfortunately, I had to re-install FS because of an unrelated problem....only to find that my disk1 has a crack the size of the Grand Canyon.Getting a replacement from Microsoft will take an ice-age. I think I'll just go out and buy another one. I will let you know if I still have the problem when I re-install.Lagaz.
