January 1, 200323 yr Since I used the command to speed up the speech, I like the improvement of the pace of the program. However I find now I can't use S-Combo any more. The computor freezes just as my PSS Airbus or PSS 747 starts to roll on takeoff. I hear "airspeed active" and the computer freezes.I used S-Combo all the time before I changed the RC settings. Is this just overload on the CPU or did I change the wav settings on S-Combo?If I takeoff without S_Combo everything is fine. I can even pause the program and load S-Combo after I take off and no problems. In previous RC forum items the program Flight Deck Companion is mentioned. Does this work? The thread said that the add ons have to started in the correct order. What order might that be? I tried to load S-Combo before and after I loaded RC, but results were the same.I will say the the CPU is being pushed hard especially with the PSS Airbus. It is most noticeable with hesitations during the take off roll. Is this add-on, or others like it, the "straw that broke ...."?Appreciate the help.WindowsXPFS2002AMD 1900+512 ramGForce3 200 tiRegardsRichR
January 1, 200323 yr Commercial Member isn't s-combo an adventure? don't you lose your ai traffic with s-combo?some people with flight deck companion have reported this:start fs200x in low priority, then rc in low priority, then fdc in low priority.maybe the same would work if you start everythin in low priority, fs200x first, then rc, then fdcthe correct order (until fdc releases a patch) is fs200x, rc, fdc JD Read my blog
January 2, 200323 yr S-Combo is not an adventure. It is a stand alone program that is loaded just like Radar Contact. I used FS2002, S-Combo, and Radar Contact, as is was loaded from the disc, together with no problem. When I upgraded RC to AboveNormal priority is when S_Combo started to causing the computer to freeze. Wasn't RC in "normal" priority as it was loaded from the disk? I had never heard the term "priority" as used here until I changed the RC voices, so I might be using the terminology wrong. You suggest I run all the programs in "low" priority. I see no need to use low when normal worked. I guess a definition of what priority means is in order. How do change RC back from AboveNormal if I choose to do that?Regards-RichR
January 2, 200323 yr Commercial Member if you were happy with normal, stay with normal. i was just repeating what others were saying about running fs, fdc, and rc JD Read my blog
January 2, 200323 yr Are you saying that two programs that use wav files such as RC, S-Combo, or FDC are not compatable if they run using different priorities? RegardsRichR
January 3, 200323 yr Commercial Member i'm just saying that other people have reported, that when rc and (fdc or s-combo) are running together, they have a problem with fdc or s-combo right after the speed calls. i don't know what fdc or s-combo is looking for or doing right after the speed calls, but whatever it is, it hangsthe same people have reported, that when fdc or s-combo, and rc, and fs200x are running at low priority, the problem with s-combo or fdc goes away.i don't have the problem, i don't run s-combo or fdc.i can't say one way or the other what is going on, i'm just reporting what other people are reporting on this forum.
