on the rc options, what is your 250kt altitude set for?

Hi JD,I had this also happening to me, on a flight from Beirut to Amsterdam.Somewhere over Greece, at RVSM FL360, the controller started nagging about my speed being higher then 250 Kts. Thanks heavens that I had my deviations for traffic disabled for the flight, so I could just put the sound off (I'm using 2 computers, so did not loose my A/C sounds).I did notice that RC had jumped into approach mode, so I assume that I must have hit one of the number keys by mistake ;(8JeffG, is that perhaps what happened to you?In the end I landed safely at EHAM though.

is it possible that the weather program you were using changed the pressure to 00.00 or 99.99 or something crazy like that?

I'm sure that in my case that was not so, but I did notice something odd... FSMeteo did suddenly load EHAM (my destination) weather as local weather while I was still 1200 NM away. After FSMeteo updated the weather again, the local weather was loaded correct again.
