January 4, 200323 yr I would like to say thank you to the entire RC3 team. I really enjoy flying with this piece of software. I also enjoyed Ver 2.2 but the ability to fly now with AI aircraft and MS ATC for chatter really improves the experience. One thing I would like to ask you to consider in future versions of RC. Please look into getting a new interface other than ADV Display. I really respect Peter Dowson's work for the FS community, however, I really dislike using ADV Display for the RC interface. It would be nice if RC could have a pop-up type window similar to the MS ATC window. Something you could call up to communicate and then have it disappear off the screen until it was needed.Again, thank you for your fabulous work!
January 4, 200323 yr Mike,I made a BMP file to dock the ADV display on. Then I made a new windowin my panel CFG file. Now I just bring up the popup window when I need it. I have to redock it everytime I load a new plane but it is better than covering up some of the nice panels I have.Eddie
January 4, 200323 yr Commercial Member can you do a how to on this. sounds like something i would use. you might be able to upload the panel bmp to the forum. then we would have something to play with in our spare time.thanks ed. hungry for some pizza? JD Read my blog
January 5, 200323 yr Hey! JD,Pizza....when???? I will make up a zip file with the bmp file and the panel config so you can cut and paste the section for the ADV display into your panels config file. I will get ready by tomorrow afternoon.Eddie
January 6, 200323 yr Hi Eddie,I think that you just started something a number of people might want. Please put me on the list or e-mail me the file at [email protected]. I have been trying to figure out a way to do this. I found a download switch to incorporate into my panels to use with FSMETEO that works great. Maybe this would be a way to create a switch that does the same thing for the ADV display? Thanks,Don Whitfieldhttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3df969a06a98783d.gif
January 6, 200323 yr Did not think about this solution. I had the option on that the display will not be shown when empty, but that meant it became not visible anymore, even when not empty.I will use your solution immediately. It is a nice feature, advdisplay, but I think it a bit too prominent.Norbert
January 6, 200323 yr I have uploaded the file called RCPanel.zipWhen I just checked it is called rc_panel.zipOr you could search for my name Eddie Atkins to find the file.It should help you to install the window in your panel.Eddie
January 6, 200323 yr Hi Eddie,Thanks alot for this file. It's great to have the ADV Display window off my main panels.
January 7, 200323 yr Thanks for the kind words....Don is working on an update that will include a switch to put on the panel, that you can mouse click on.Eddie
