I have been using RC3 for a while now, and I am very pleased with it. A few issues I have:1. I am told to contact arrivals, who answer as approach (or it might be the other way round (I am not claiming this is a big problem!!)2. I am always final, No 2. Is this fixed?3. Now the one that confuses me. A couple of time on descent to FL100, when reaching about 110 I heard the controller say "on reaching FL010 tuen heading 245" (or whatever). Now I understood this to mean descend to FL010 and *then* turn on to course, but I get chewed out almost straight away for not turning. Whats happening here - am I hearing it wrong?ThanksGary

1) i believe they are interchangeable2) depends on when you contact tower3) i'm not familiar with where i tell you to "on raching 100, turn 245" what was the situation and where did this occur. did you miss a crossing restriction?

1 & 2 Roger!3. Its quite possible! The instruction before was to descend to fl010 and be level in 30 miles or less. I suspect that I may well have been at fL011 at the crossing point. I'll try and recreate it. Its quite possible that I am mis-hearing the on reaching bit!ThanksGary

3) i think what he said was start a left 360 until reaching 100 and then go on end

It depends. If you got:"...cross 40m from XXX at 100/250kt...", and miss that restriction, you'll be given a 360^. IOW, start a standard rate left-turn now and when you reach 100, proceed direct."...descend and maintain 100, start down now. I need you level in 30m or less...", and you miss that restriction, you'll be assigned specific headings.

Aha - it was definately the second one Doug, and I got the specific headings. Now I *thought* he said on reaching FL010 turn heading 245 (or whatever). As I got chewed out for not turning straight away, can you remember what he actually says?ThanksGary

I honestly don't remember the specific words at specifc times Gary, but I don't believe we assign another heading when you reach the xing altitude. If I'm correct, you're "...clr'd direct..." then switched to Apch. It's easy to check out. Run the flight again (or the like if you'd prefer a shorter flight for testing purposes), ack the restriction when the time comes, them immediately Save. Run that saved file as many times as you wish, playing around with different descent configuations.

Whilst I normaly make my x-ing restrictions ;) If for some reason you dont quite make it, 11,000ft or so then you can ignore the 360^ turn instruction & continue on course. You will be handed over to Appr & you don't get a verbal barrage from the controllers!

Sounds like my sort of flying!GaryPS I used to fly from EGBG - nice place!
