January 14, 200323 yr Hello,if you are flying like me with two pcs (FS on serverand RC on client) maybe I have something for you.To avoid keystrokes like Control-Shift-P I wrote a litteprogram that I call 'RC control panel'.With it you can click onto named buttons and these clicksare internally converted to keystrokes and sent to RC.The program automatically uses the keystrokes that can bedefined within RC, it even allows to test the keystrokesit sends to RC.It works ONLY on client where RC and WideClient do their job,NOT on the pc with FS (there you have to use 'mini control panel').I used this control panel for many flights, placed directly overshowtext window, it works fine with a German keyboard, I cannottest it with foreign (Spanish, US, Greek, Danish...) keyboards, but there is no reason why it won't work.Interested? If so please tell me and I will write an instruction.txt andupload it.GreetingsStephan (near EDDM)
January 21, 200323 yr I think this might be what I'm looking for. Anything come of this? I'd be interested in trying.Lobaeux
January 23, 200323 yr Dear Stephan,Please may I have a copy. I run RC on my laptop but the power cable doesnt reach the socket, I need an extension lead! So the power management shutting down the computer as it appears to be idle. With your system inputs would be made into my laptop to keep it "alive". I know I could change the settings but ...ThanksClowesy
January 23, 200323 yr Clowesy, just enter power management on your laptop & set everything to never & your problems are solved. Apart from you can't fly longer than 2hrs! Without the mains lead anyways.
January 24, 200323 yr Thanks Hermit,2 hours? Its brand new and I'm lucky if I can get about 70mins out of it... Work networks require me to log off after 5 mins inactivity, this effects RC I better keep asking for weather, higher alts, lower atlts or fiddle with FSmeteo! .Thanks for you help though. I will just need to remember to change the settings when I log on again at work.Thnaks for your help.Clowesy
January 24, 200323 yr Hi Stephan,"It works ONLY on client where RC and WideClient do their job,NOT on the pc with FS (there you have to use 'mini control panel')."What is the "mini control panel"? I would love to be able to control RC3 from my FS PC (I have both RC3 and WideFS, maybe this mini panel is a part of one of these apps?).Thanks,Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
