January 19, 200323 yr I do enjoy radar contact, however, lately, I've not been able to get it to work. I create a flight plan in FSNavigator with destination of Montreal. Export it to FS2002 plan. Load up the plan in FS2002 and start flight. I then launch Radar Contact and load up the flight plan only to receive IPC request contains bad data. What is going on? Please help! here's the plan from RC...KGFL to CYUL@14000 (Alt1- , Alt2-) / GFL.FAIRB.KROWN.KEMPE.LEAFY.KEESE.PLB.GUNZZ.ABCOT.NAPEE.MICHE.Also, flight plans that worked in the past are not working now and giving me the same IPC request contains bad data....here's that flight plan...KCOS to KCYS@15000 (Alt1- , Alt2-) / AP.FN.GZW.CY.KCYS.Another finding I had that disappointed me, was making an approach into SFO. I was on a 2 mile final when a ground airplane was given clearance to take off on the same runway I had been given permission to land on. It doesn't seem to integrate very well with the AI aircraft, and for that, I'm disappointed. I figured RC would know who was where and when...maybe next round.
January 19, 200323 yr Commercial Member make sure fs2002 is running when you click start on the rcv3 app. also make sure fsuipc version is the latest and greates. you might have installed a fs add on recently, that put an older version in your modules directory. check the version number by clicking the fs200x modules menu item, then click fsuipc, the version number should be right thereon the ground traffic, we're working on it. i am using a beta copy of fsuipc that allows me to see ground traffic. that information was unavailable last year. :-(i am also disappointed that it doesn't work right. but from my perspective, why was the ai plane cleared to taxi into position and hold?we haven't figured out how to control the ai planes, and i doubt we ever will :-(but on the upside, on our internal beta version of rc, we are getting go arounds for planes on the runway. January 19, 200323 yr As a side note, because MS is giving no information about anything, Peter Dowson is literally taking FS2K2 apart byte by byte to find what info he can. So to be able to see any traffic is huge, and now to at least mostly tell if something's on the runway is monolithic.I can't emphasize enough the huge job Peter has done with FSUIPC to make FS actually worth using, not to mention internally fixing a lot of FS's problems. Then he makes all the data easily available for external programs, like RC, FS_Meteo, ActiveSky, and anything else useful to make FS "as real as it gets" - because MS certainly hasn't. And all for free. MS has done none of this. Thanks Peter.
January 19, 200323 yr Thanks for the info. I hope I wasn't branded a complainer. I really do enjoy RC and have since version 2. Being able to be assigned a runway based on winds is a godsend, as I hate watching planes land at BNA only to go home and be assigned the "active" runway (13 or 31) when I know the controllers are using other runways (2 or 20). anyhow, It does seem that ever since I installed the Montreal Scenery, that is when my trouble began. I will check the FSUIPC and fix if needed.I look forward to improved AI aircraft scenarios in future releases.Other than what I've said, RC is a great add on for FS2002, which didn't quite hit the mark with their ATC.THANKS!!
January 19, 200323 yr I downloaded the latest FSUIPC and voila! No more IPC error. Thanks for the assistance fellow fliers!!! See you in the great big blue sky!
