January 21, 200323 yr I've discovered another missing airline call sign. This one is strange because I heard it a lot in the RC chatter while flying last night. I was flying Trans World Express 7911, an ERJ, operated by Chatauqua (spelling is probably incorrect) for TWVA. There is no Chatauqua option. I checked the Pilot/Controller scripts and couldn't find it. So, I had to fly as Trans World Express. TWA had 3 different express operators all flying at the same time. Chatauqua CHQ "Chatauqua" operated ERJs & S340s, Corp-X CEA "Corp-X" operated the J31s, and TranStates LOF "Waterski" operated the J41s and ATRs. I got that information from Hank Belz, our Fleet Manager.Steve
January 21, 200323 yr Steve,Send the correction to Doug. We have what people told us. If someone requested Trans World Express and didn't say the callsign is "Chautauqua", then it's not. I don't think anyone's gone through the entire callsign list (official) to see that the callsigns are correct.
January 21, 200323 yr Author Scott, This one just kind of came up. I normally don't fly the ERJ for TWVA but I was waiting for a new MD83 I ordered from Vans. I wouldn't have caught it if I also hadn't asked the question on our TWVA forum about call signs. Funny thing was the first chatter I heard after changing over to departure was "Chatauqua XXXX". I'll send this info on to Doug.Steve KCLE
January 22, 200323 yr Steve,Since I've pretty much had to listen to every spec of chatter (sigh), I know what you mean. There are actually a few callsigns RC doesn't have that are in that chatter. ;-)
January 22, 200323 yr Author And, I keep lookin' for that E95 guy who's driving a car all over the airport. Haven't seen him yet but when I do......Steve
