I got the same error. Unfortunately I did not save my original rvc3.exe.But accidently I could solve the problem by starting rcv3b.exe in the same folder, setting up a flight and quit rc. Afterward I could start the 3.01 version rvc3.exe without the error. Strange.mmmol
