February 21, 200323 yr Hello,Is there a change we get "Speech Recognition" in the future RC?If not, can you please motivate that for us?At the moment there is a ATC program on the market named 'FSCom'at http://www.pointsoftware.de/The speech works very good and Interacts flawless on your voice!Only its a pitty that it has not that much options as in RadarContact :(Can you guy's of RC take a look at it, and see if there are any possibility's to Integrate Speech near the future for RadarContact?Thanksvortovor
February 21, 200323 yr Commercial Member there are plenty of good voice recognition software utilities out there today. why re-invent the wheel? i'd rather concentrate on atc, and let the flight planners to the flight plans, the scenery makers do the scenery, the panel makers do the panels, the weather programs do the weather, let the traffic people make the traffic and the voice recognition people do voice. February 21, 200323 yr Thanks for the clarification JD!You don't have the re-invent the wheel..why?The MS Speechengine is free of charge for everyone and its surely working great today! All RC needs is some rewriting on the current triggers.(wish I was a programmer;))...but okay, okay, I got the message.....Thanksvortovor
February 21, 200323 yr Commercial Member don't get me wrong. i actually spent a good 2 weeks trying the speech recognition. it is not trivial. and misunderstandings can be hazardous to your success at staying away from bill stephens :-)and computer generated voices were even worse. i made the beta team endure many weaks listening to the "built in" computer generated voices. they begged me to make it stop. it made getting the voices recorded a whole lot easier :-lol JD Read my blog
February 23, 200323 yr ATC Sim. uses MS voice rec. if you wish to use it.Its a pain to get setup, and teach it. Once its working correctly tho its a lof of fun. There still needs quite a bit of work to get speech recog. working the way it should.
