March 9, 200323 yr I am having a bit of a problem with RC3 not recognizing my filed flight plan. Here's the scenario:1. I setup a flight plan in FS2k2 and select Find Route and set altitude.2. I save and load this flight plan.3. I then load RC3 and load the saved flight plan.4. I re-create the flight plan in the GNS530 (Meridian).5. Once in the air RC3 gives me the flexible departure option.6. I set the GPS mode on the Garmin and let the autopilot fly the course.7. RC3 keeps telling me that I am off course and instructs me to fly a heading 180 degrees in the opposite direction to get back on course. What am I doing wrong here? ________________________________ Ken B. March 11, 200323 yr Maybe you didn't fly one of the first checkpoints of your flight plan. You have a 2nm limit to fly your plan during flexible departure. Then it goes to 5nm.So if you almost fly the flightplan, and are required to get back to fly these points, ask ATC to go ahead to a next checkpoint. In main menu, set one or two times 9 to go to next screens of advdisp, and you should now see Dir Chckpt or something like this. This is to ask for a direct checkpoint. Select it and in the next screen, select the next waypoint you're really flying to.Hope it helps. Sebastien BELLUTEAU
March 11, 200323 yr Author Thanks DJ and Scott. Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you Scott with that flight plan. However, DJ was right, I failed to arrive at the initial checkpoint. I flew the route again and selected the direct-to checkpoint feature and all was fine. Quite an enjoyable flight from KTPA to KATL. All went so well that the end-of-flight critic said that I must be a rated pilot (I am) because I flew so goooood. Now if we could just get RC to give taxi instructions. :( Happy on this end. RC3 Rocks! Thanks again to you both, ________________________________ Ken B. Jackson - KSAT Private Pilot - SEL San Antonio, Texas
