Hi Mike,Each of my Meridian flights is with RC3 and Meteo with FSNAV lurking in the background, not as a flight planner but as a reference for me. Setup is simple.1. Create a flight plan in your favorite flight planner. Since I do short hops in the Meridian, <300 mi, I mostly use VOR to VOR, although the Garmin will certainly handle intersections and NDBs. I simply use the MSFS flight planner. Set up for a VFR flight and save. Suggest you print the plan.2. Shortly after starting MSFS, I start Meteo and grab the weather for the origination and destination. This way I know what approach I might want to add to the plan entered into the Garmin .... depending on the winds, etc.3. Often I will use the Garmin trainer standalone to enter the flight plan, since it is faster. But you can enter your flight plan either way .. in the standalone garmin (before starting MSFS), or sitting on the ramp in your Meridian.4. I start RC3, enter all the stuff needed .. get the ATIS, clearances, finish up preflight, tower for taxi, and takeoff and off we go .. I have tried ILS and VOR approaches with The Garmin ... just ask RC3 ATC for an IAP approach, specify your runway and type approach ... you will be cleared and you are on your own till final, where you will be cleared to land ... you hope ... hahahaha. Not being a REAL pilot, I can't speak for the accuracy of these procedures, but it sure seems real to me ... requiring me to be an octopus with 8 arms and hands trying to do all the stuff needed to get the thing onto the runway ... and hope to goodness that the guy says, "You can fly in my airspace anytime." ... hahahahahaah .... certainly don't want to meet Bill Stephenson ... hahahaO well have fun, hope this helps a bit.
