PC Crashing

This is not an RC problem I am sure but I was hoping some of you guys might have run into something similar lately. Been running FS since it came out and every version of RC. Since v3 came out I have been running FS2K2, DF737, Simflyers scenery, FSAssist (for pushback only other functions disabled), FSScene US&Can, and some added AI. Never had a problem until recently when random, infrequent reboots would occur in FS, usually on final approach. This seamed to coincide with my update of ADVDisplay but I did not realize it at the time as I am updating my drivers frequently as well. After upgrading to latest ADVDisplay, FSUIPC, adding FSMeteo and SF Toronto, my infrequent problem got a lot worse, the crashing occurs every time at the gate or just after I begin taxi. Nothing else crashes my system, just FS. I took off my overclock (been stable for 6 months but start at the top right), went conservative in BIOS, backed all drivers out to official most stable release levels and finally removed and reinstalled everything related to FS, all add-ons etc. Checked all hardware...everything. Step by step no improvement or it got worse. Now my panels get corrupt right off the bat, not just DF737 but any plane and I cannot dock (only lock) latest ADVDisplay 2.02. With ADVDisplay turned off panel corruption disappears but hitting the still locks up. It all seemed to start with the last three ADVDisplay releases and the last two killed it. I did upgrade to DX9 over holidays and 9b since, could this be an ADVDisplay 2.0+/DX9 incompatibility? I cant fly and I am Jonesing seriously. Any help appreciated.FL_Flyer (below are my specs before the crisis.MSI 645 Max-U (SIS 645DX chipset) latest SIS drivers and 5.2 BIOSIntel P4 2.53/533 OCD to 2.8/590 with Intel retail cooler @ 32c idle 42c under full load350 watt PS, mid-tower w/ 1 intake 2 exhaust fans (negative pressure) 512 MB OCZ DDR 2400 w/ copper heat spreaders @ 294 mhz CL 2.5 Abit Siluro GF4 Ti 4400 275/550 OCD to 300/600 nvidia 43.00 Drivers and NVHardPage(1280x960x32@85hz, SBA 128MB, Quincunx AA, 2x AF)Maxtor 30GB HD ATA 133 32 bit addressing NTFS w/ seperate partition for FS2002SB Live X-Gamer/ Altec Lansing ADA-305 Creative Live Driver Pack 3/03Alcatel USB DSL modem (using USB 2.0) 1146 Kbit dn/221 Kbit up Windows XP Home, SP1, tweaked to minimum services and fixed 1 GB swap, DX9.0b3D Mark 2001SE - 12,795, SSS 2003 - Dhry 7223 MIPS, Whet 3610 MFLOPS, PR Rating 3.108FS2002 with all sliders maxed all boxes checked, real world weather and AI.DreamFleet 737-400 is only aircraft flown.Simflyers scenery for all airports flown.Numerous addon City sceneries.Radar Contact 3.0 for ATC.Lago FSAssist for pushback.FPS locked at 30, 15 on ground in traffic w/ AI, moving gates/vehicles etc. 24-30 airborn depending on weather, view, altitude, etc. Smooth, realistic and full of eye candy.

Sounds like a hardware problem. Not too sure what you overclocked cpu or gpu - but it would seem one of these are failing when coming under load and warming up. Check cooling fans and if possible check processor and graphics card in another machine.Martin

Ahaaaa! I, too, have been experiencing FS Crashes galore and, now that I think of it, it has only been since I upgraded to the latest version of Adv Disp. :-mad At first I blamed it on ActiveSky which I also had just purchased but my crashes were occurring even without ActiveSky running. I'm glad that I have Go Back by Roxio because first thing tonight I'm going back to my previous version of Adv Disp. Thanks for the information! :-wave Steve
